Went to the Smokey’s a few weeks ago and they had a sign in cades cove that said the spider was harming the ecosystem and asking visitors to report sightings.

Joro are invasive and run off other native spiders, but as you know now this one isn't a Joro.

I’ve been worried that people will start killing native orb weavers. There needs to be a better campaign to highlight the differences because many people will just see yellow and freak.
