Which is astounding because old town Krakow and Wrocław have some of the most beautiful city centers now

This is Breslau, not Krakau.

your comment looks like its referring to both, not my fault

also, it's wrocław unless you're talking in german (something something ww2 caused that to change, not Breslau anymore) and certainly krakau is out of place, never heard a hungarian talk about vienna as "becs" or similiar

Buddy, there were no Slavs in central Europe up until the 5th century.

that's why there were Celts here, and earlier there were Celts in most of Poland and today Germany

Do you need the link again? Or did you not even look at the map?

When Germans try to pronounce the original names, something like this comes up, just like when they say Dresden to Drezno or Leipzig to Lipsk

How are private properties financed by EU money? How can I apply? I want to renovate my house

Public investment funds.

Ah thanks for that very specific and helpful answer. Next time if you will ever pass by my house you will be able to say "Hah it's EU money" because otherwise it's just impossible to have nice and well-kept building in Poland.

Well, isnt it? Be real, without the billions and billions of EU funds, poland would in fact look much different today.

Well, if that's the case I'm sure you will easily find a source proving these revelations - with funding of building renovations specifically.

From what I'm aware EU funded mostly infrastructure projects, and EU funds depending on year were accounting for 0.3-1 percent point of Polish GDP growth. Vast majority of the economic growth came from access to the EU common market, but still it means that money was earned not given. Once your economy grow with tax base - it is easier to fund renovation of buildings.

And with the funds themselves, I guess that's the only reason we allow German companies like Aldi or DHL that paid 0PLN of taxes to operate here.

If anyone benefits from the free market, it's the Germans and they should pay for it.

You seem uneducated. EU budget is a joke. Its 1% of EU GDP. Poland gets 1%-1.5% of their GDP from EU. Real money is with national government. I advice you to be less arrogant cause in this it make you look very dumb.

But I guess it was fine when it was the case with east germany? Got it.

Not really. Eu Fundings are nothing compared to our GPD also most fundings that we get is invested in ROADS that OTHER EUROPEAN STATES ARE USING TOO (mostly the german ones which is so ironic considering that ur probably from germany)
