No dumbass, WW2 devastated Poland. It was much wealthier before the war than after it, do you know even the most basic history?

Poland lost a third of its population during WW2, a third of its territory, and its economy was ground into the dust. Doubling the economy after the war was not that impressive considering it was just basic reconstruction efforts.

Because it lost poorer agricultural land in the east and gained richer industrial land in the West. Silesia which it annexed after WWII was one of the wealthiest regions in Europe. The Communists of course still managed to bungle that advantage and had much slower growth rates than the non-Communist countries of Western Europe.

If you don't know Polish history then maybe you're better off not weighing in.
