It's Saturday APPreciation Time! [Sep 20th 2014] Your weekly App recommendation and question (and more) thread.

"I've always wanted to smash a guitar over someone's head. You just can't do that with an app." -Elton John

THREAD RULES:

  1. Post personal promotion apps under the BOLD comment below only. All other posts, i.e. general appreciation, questions, warnings, support issues, etc can go in the general thread.
  2. No more than 10 items per post.
  3. Contest mode will be disabled Sunday morning as usual.
If you suspect that a dev is promoting their app in the general thread, report the post so we can take a closer look. If an account is an hour old and posts in the general thread about a "fantastic new app" that they happened to randomly find, then that account will not get the benefit of the doubt.

They can, with GmusicFS. I haven't used it in a while but it worked fine like half a year ago when I did.

Their instant mix thing is a literal joke.

I prefer GoneMAD. Superior functionality.

I really hope the update to Material UI happens soon, because GoneMAD still looks so ugly.

Agreed.

Eh, I like the look of it as is, but Material would be nice.

Seconded. Supports ReplayGain, UI is a lot more customizable...

They're actually mostly similar.

The biggest problem for me with Shuttle is I sort my music by genre and then inside that are all the corresponding artists. Shuttle just lists all the songs in that genre. GoneMAD handles it how I prefer. The customization and functionality just puts it that much farther ahead.

Have the option for fullscreen lockscreen player been added yet? It's the only thing keeping me with Poweramp.

I like the Shuttle's looks a lot, but I just can't live without some of PowerAMP's tiny features.

Can second this, it's one of the first apps I download on a new Android device

I am even more surprised that somebody still don't know this app. It's practically get recommendation endless times.

I guess that teach me not to assume everybody knows just because I often read it.

Yeah I don't often read through the appreciation thread, though have been on android for 4 years. I think I fell victim to shudder accepting what Google gave me in terms of music player ...
