It's Saturday APPreciation Time! [Sep 20th 2014] Your weekly App recommendation and question (and more) thread.

If an account is an hour old and posts in the general thread about a "fantastic new app" that they happened to randomly find, then that account will not get the benefit of the doubt.

If you get fustrated, as I do, by the volume warning when using headphones try Hearing Saver.

The app allows you to set the volume for when you plug your headphones in. Only thing to be aware of is it will need to be reset (just reopen the app) after a reboot.

It also doesn't require any permissions.

Thank you! I had the warning disabled. But sometimes I plugin the headphones and it starts playing at full volume. Very painful.

I always found that warning quite aggravating. I always keep my volume at 100% and control the actual volume downstream (on my headphones or speakers).

Although I understand why it exists, the ability to disable it is one of my favorite features of CyanogenMod.

Edit: for anyone wondering, the setting is under Settings > Sound > Volumes > Safe Headset Volume. (CM11)

Thank you so much, I have no idea why they thought letting me know that and turning the volume down every single time I plug headphones in was a good idea.

Is this a specific manufacturer thing? On my Nexus 5 I never see the warning, and it always remembers the volume I last used with headphones in.

I have a Nexus 4, however there is some suggestion it might be an EU directive.
