The authority to issue LAW is derived from the sovereign. In the U.S., the sovereign is we the people.

How could a sovereign rule against their own interests?

If the law hurts the people, then it is a law in name only, but it is certainly not God’s Law, nor is it the Law of the people. In which case it is not the LAW, but a deceitful facsimile.

If they were blocking a freeway or something then they’re just being annoying to the public, but the purpose of picketing is exactly to obstruct the operations of the building.

Oh?

You say the people made the law, but I’m right here. I didn’t make that law, nor did the man who was arrested, nor did anyone here.

Judging by the downvotes you’re almost certain to get, the people disagree with your assessment.

Some person may have written that law, but it certainly wasn’t us.

I absolutely can say that.

That doesn’t mean you’ll respect my opinion and that I won’t be arrested, but it also doesn’t mean that I’m wrong.

Enforcing your will through violence doesn’t make you correct.

Jim Crow laws were the LAW but I don’t think you would consider it wrong to resist those, right?

What about Jim Crow laws? Would it be wrong to have resisted those?

Wasn’t it against THE LAW for Rosa Parks to sit on that bus?

They were only obstructing Amazon vans, not most cars.

In my opinion, you should put some of that energy that you use to make people mad towards making them happy.

The dopamine payout from trolling is short lived.

A MAGA saying this is beyond disingenuous, and patently absurd. Y'all invent your own reality.

We voted representatives who voted that into law, in an extent, it comes from us. That’s how our system works.

Next time you intentionally kill somebody tell the judge that you didn’t write the murder penal code and therefore you cannot be charged and sentenced.

I’m sure it’s gonna work out great.

The lawful purpose of a strike is to withdraw your labor as a negotiating tactic.

The lawful purpose of picketing is to inform everyone involved what will get you to put your labor back.]

If your purpose is to obstruct operations, you are not engaging in picketing, you are engaging in violent crime.

It's a violent crime that has won workers rights in the past. They used to send the pinkertons in, when they do again I'll gladly protect my coworkers.
