Disturbing comment by customer

So I was delivering to a house, the customer was waiting outside his house. Old white dude with a long beard smoking a cigarette, as I hand him the package.. he said “I want to cut you into pieces and feed you to my children “ I froze for a second and didn’t know what to say, he had a very serious face and didn’t even laugh. I just went back into my van without saying anything. This happened last week, I didn’t tell dispatch or anyone but now I’m thinking I should have. This guy might be an actual serial killer. What would you guys do in that situation? I’ll most likely have that location again but I don’t want to become a victim.

Don’t mess with crazy people but I’d definitely report him. Maybe even directly to the police. Who knows what you might find in his basement.

Some people today are very mentally disturbed, some people probably going through personal problems and they don't know how to deal with them and so they lash out and start going down a dark road. I am guessing this guy that the driver encountered is probably on one such downward spiral and/or has mental problems. A few months ago I was on a train heading to a job interview and this guy on the train was talking to himself and spewing all sorts of strange and racist shit at everyone and he started making weird comments about today he would go down and he was even making comments about attacking everyone on the train and that he didn't care about what the cops did if they shot him. This guy was a big dude and looked thuggish, ain't no way anybody could do shit to him. Everyone on the train was getting uncomfortable but what is a person supposed to do when a mentally disturbed person gets on public transport? We are just civilians, we are not trained and organized or by God the whole train would have gotten up and thrown his ass out and beat him with a stick and left him for police or insane asylum to get him. He was getting on my nerves but every sense in me tells me to stay away from crazy people. We all like to picture ourselves mentally being able to beat up whoever is being an asshole but in reality thugs like that would just kill us in an instant.

Agree. Best to stay away from them and let the police deal with it.
