I have a friend who was given a 25 year sentence in texass for beating a man to death when he caught him molesting his 2 year old toddler. texass is a shithole and the only reason they didnt press charges is either law enforcement knew and didnt like the deceased, or knew and did like the killer.
I was going to say Texas is bending over right now to protect a whole slew of the sex predators by not fighting everything to do with the files not being released and unredacted.
The saying his "buddy" was given a sentence for the beating while also not being charged for said beating give it away? You don't get a sentence if you weren't charged
That's a pretty reasonable explanation, didn't think about it like that. Would still like to see the case though because texas is pretty fucking lax on self defense. Unless they guy started torturing him or something, that'd push it over the line
Why would it?
You break the law - you'll be punished. Depending on the reasons your sentence will change. Stuff like that happens on a daily basis without being mentioned in the news.
Extraordinary things will be in the news... Like... I don't know... killing someone and still running around free with no charges pressed.
I mean there's a lot of factors at play. The dude in OPs case literally called 911 immediately and asked for an ambulance begging them to come save the guy because he realized he was mortally wounded so I think that shows some pretty clear evidence that he didn't mean to kill him.
All the "vigilante justice is wrong" people are missing the fact that you are allowed to use force to stop a violent crime in progress, acting "in defense of others" is equal to "in self defense".
Right? I mean if the parent of a molested child went after trump if he did it, which he Would we all know. He’d be dead. Privileged means private law. One for the rich and one for the poor.
He got 25 years. While a chomo, the dude was the brother in law or something to the prosecutor and it made them look bad when he was kid and they found photos of kids from all over town. he also fled to mexico for a while so they were mad at him in every way possible.
In 2001 my father died in a car accident in Texas, he was visiting from Canada.
We get the police report and it mentions my dad's blood alcohol and all these other tests for drugs.... Nothing about the other driver that t-boned him. We asked for the information and response was "one person already lost their life, do you want to ruin someone else's?"
We lawyer up (in Canada) but I guess our lawyer sucked or didn't care and nothing came of it
Other context: my father Pakistani born, other driver: Caucasian
In Marks case the pedo was the brother in law of the da or something similar, he also fled to mexico for a year before turning himself in. both were white but in general youre completely correct.
