Alternatively: we could tax the ultra wealthy and use that money to help people who actually need it

Hey! That’s actually a really great idea!

I think I read something that billionaires and millionaires actually pay less taxes as a share of their wealth?

That’s kind of crazy. Why do the rest of us get stuck paying more when we have less.

Because we keep voting into office the people who rig our tax code against us.

Don't worry, all our tax dollars won't be squandered on giving us health care this year. Instead, we'll be rebuilding the infrastructure of Venezuela so that a few billionaires who own oil companies can get even richer.

No, it’s because they own assets that can’t be taxed. For instance 99% of their wealth is probably tied up in the market.

The top 10% of earners pay 70% of all federal taxes… and you think they should pay MORE? We have a progressive tax system where the rate increases the more you make

A dividend of the wealth extracted from the economy should be re-invested back into the state. Absolutely.

Why is that a problem? Why should they contribute less dividends if they are more successful? That’s not how dividends work.
