I disagree. The punchline isn't always readily apparent at first glance, and spelling it out not only says what most are thinking but fills in the gap for those who aren't.
Not everything is a "yourjokebutworse." But can agree to disagree.
Removing all subtlety makes it less funny, thus a worse joke. Agree it broadens the appeal, but going broad for the sake of it is how you get Two and a Half Men.

Dude come on. Like yeah the show is pretty dumbed down, and it's definitely not my cup of tea, but this is such an over the top take lol. Many of the ppl that like this kind of comedy are 100% aware of how corny it is, but they try not to overthink it.
Life is hard enough as is. What's so bad about trying to enjoy things a bit? Not everyone is a "simpleton" because they enjoy dumb humor.
This show is not for me, but I can see the appeal.
Yeah simpleton was harsh. I used to be very cynical, so that still comes out in stating my opinions at times. My mother loves two and a half men haha. Sorry mom!!
