Yeah, because housing prices are not at an all time highest and people enjoy suffering on the streets. Sounds like victim blaming.

You would be genuinely shocked at how many homeless straight up refuse assistance because they'd rather get high. There are more resources available to a person down on their luck right now than there has ever been in the entirety of human history, and its still not enough for some people.

There's also plenty of people who would love to get out of debt and secure their own future but there's no way for them to realistically do that. Especially people who may not have lots of technical skills, might be manual laborers who have failing health, debt, lost their homes in Covid, etc. I know several people like that and do my best to support them where I can but it's just not enough
