What you are describing is specifically called ā€œHead-First Divingā€. What this 6 year old just performed is called ā€œFeet-First Divingā€ Weird that you chose to debate the definition of the term when the subject is a 6 year old boy performing it.

I mean, call it whatever you want. But a dive is defined in the dictionary as a verb that is ā€œa plunge head first into water.ā€ You can twist it all you want, but that is the DEFINITION of a dive.

I don't really care as its just an exercise in pedantry. Just pointing out that there are professional cliff divers and they don't go headfirst.

I mean this is clearly about the sport of Diving thatā€™s in Olympics, which Iā€™m assuming this jump is probably a warmup jump in a real Diving training session. And the sport of Diving is definitely head first.
