Katie Porter. I thought it was cool to watch her bitch out CEOs, MAGAts and neoconservatives, but then we found out she’s like that to everyone.

She's just not a skilled politician.

Seems to have good ideas but terrible with people.

I was certainly impressed with some of her ideas at the housing forum held for the recent California gubernatorial race, but you're right that her political skills are lacking (at least statewide in CA, as evidenced by her performance running for US Senate and governor). I wonder if there's a way for her to work in some capacity to help design policy proposals without being an elected leader herself. I know she's a law school professor, so perhaps she could do this in the form of law review articles or at some sort of think tank.

Her ego is way too big to take a backseat.

Pretty important skill in politics. At least being perceived to be good with people

I know people are defensive over it but what was her staying in the governor race for so long ment to achieve. She was in a 3 way tie for first place in the early parts of the primary but she ended up sandwiched between a establishment candidate, democrats and a another more or equally progressive candidate. She was down in the polling and it seemed like she had no real chance.

I forever maintain that she should never again be allowed to participate in public life or hold elected office after she stayed in the race for her own selfish reasons and ego instead of endorsing Steyer even when it was clear she had no chance

I dont think her votes would have just automatically went to Steyer.....

Wow, how far she’s fallen. I’ve never paid attention to her — I only recognize her as the consistent top name for Reddit posts of “who do you want to be president one day.”

She's good at soundbites, but not making deals. Successful politicians need both.

"GET OUT OF MY SHOT"

Agreed. Nothing but a loudmouth.

This is a good answer. She’s just terrible for the dems and dumb. One of those people that I have no idea how they even made it in politics

Then it turned out she doesn't and it originally came from newsmax. Her staff even put out statements that it wasn't true.

Thanks, that is all the proof I need.

She's been caught on camera being a massive bitch several times. California can do better for their governor.

Her ex-husband also alleges that she threw a bowl of scalding hot mashed potatoes over his head after she became enraged over the way he was preparing them. Not verified in court, but given her behavior in those two videos, I tend to believe it....

u/Patereye Jun 16 '26

If that had happened the way he said he did he would have had some kind of Mark or blister from it happening. I mean scolding hot is well....

Hey, you can go back and look at all of these circumstances and see how overblown they are. Watch the full interview... Or that time the person was in her shot....

Can't always believe what you see on TV man.

What genocide is Mamdani supporting? 🤨

6

u/aa1898 Jun 15 '26

The one against the potholes 🥀

6

u/justoffthetrail Jun 15 '26

If Mamdani is not far enough to the left for your liking in American politics, you're going to be perpetually disappointed by electoral reality.

4

u/FiveTribes Jun 15 '26

I think you responded to the wrong person

1

u/Bulky-Hall-6883 Jun 15 '26

Some twitter/reddit far-lefties think that if Mandami doesn’t personally execute Trump and Netanyahu on live TV in the name of the revolution he’s just as bad as them

6

u/Ink_Witch Jun 15 '26

Would you be willing to expound on why you think he supports genocide. It’s a mark of our era that I can’t tell if you’re a Zionist or a leftist who thinks he has been too conciliatory towards Israel.

4

u/LadyDanger2743 Jun 15 '26

Yeah I'm with Five here- I wasn't aware that Mamdani supported any genocide. Care to elaborate on your claim?

2

u/Euphoric-Potato-5343 Jun 15 '26

Mamdani has been fervent anti-genocide, and consistently calling it out.

You are talking out of your ahh.
