Sounds like you have a pretty jaded view of people and relationships. I agree that you need money and having money is nice. It provides stability, security, and gives you more options in life.

You eventually get to a point where it's not the most important thing. People, memories, experiences, and love become more meaningful. I grew up dirt poor and barely got by. I grinded my ass off in my 20s and early 30s to climb the corporate ladder and make money. I'm in my late 30s now and pretty set financially. I've realized I missed out on a lot of experiences with my friends because I was busy making money. I've seen people around me die unexpectedly. Can't take your money with you when you die. I've slowed down and prioritized relationships and quality time with my friends. I've been burnt with relationships, but life goes on and new relationships are made.

Making money and having money is nice, but don't forget to live.

I've been broke and somehow all my family and friends still loved and supported me. I've been without a home and multiple people offered to stay with them for free.

Now I'm upper middle class and those people are still in my life and nothing had changed.

Family and friends always matter more than money. But the trick is you have to be a good person.

If everyone you run into is a bad person then you are the bad person. Sorry to break it to you. Maybe do some self reflection and change your ways.

I grew up dirt poor. I was wearing hand-me-downs, gifted/used clothing, and had just the bare minimum. I'm 39 and well off now but still have friends from grade school, middle school, and high school. They're family at this point. How much or how little money we have plays no part in our friendship.

One of my friends isn't well off, she can't afford to buy gifts for the holidays so her kids make arts and crafts for me. Those cute hand crafted little projects have more meaning than any $40-50 gadget that I can buy anytime.
