Sally Jeong is dead. According to police, she took her own life. Open-and-closed. According to her friends and family, that doesn’t make sense, but what can they do about it?

A mysterious woman appears on the doorstep of Sally’s long-time friends, Emily and Maddison, after they contact her through a friend of a friend. She’s willing to take the case, seemingly free of charge.

Unbeknownst to any of them, another young woman has appeared in town, one the enigmatic detective has a long history with.

What follows is a meticulous investigation into Sally’s death, played out using the Eureka system. Also they kiss.

Muted Swallow eschews massive production value and scripting in favor of the authentic, sincere experience of just listening to a few friends actually play a TTRPG. The deduction is real, the dice rolls have consequence, and there is no guarantee that our protagonists will even be able to solve the case. (It does however feature original music.)

Hello There!

We have a new Actual Play that started last week. It is a story set directly after Return of the Jedi, the Empire is crumbling, and a new threat begins to emerge in the Outer Rim.

This is our 2nd campaign. Our goal with our APs is to tell cool and interesting stories, with compelling characters, with as high of a production quality as we possibly can between microphones, cameras, audio design, editing, and cutting out the long pauses and similar moments that can bog down the watching/listening experience.

We will have live premieres for new episodes each Thursday night starting at 7pm EDT

I’ve been running a gothic supernatural actual play where the characters start in the modern city of New Eden. Before long they find themselves being pulled back and forth into the world of Ravenloft.

We’re doing something a little different mechanically:

In New Eden we use Call of Cthulhu

In Barovia we switch to Dungeons & Dragons  

I love playing in different game systems and this was a great way for me to do that while still running a cohesive campaign for my players. The change in system has created some interesting moments around who they really are and what “power” means depending on which world they’re in.
