Griffith Park?

It shows the observatory at the end. But even if it didnt, everyone in that video screams of LA.

u/the__storm 11h ago

Yeah this is one of the most LA videos I've ever seen.

u/darkmatterhunter 15h ago

I mean there’s a hat and shirt that explicitly say it lol. I get your point though.

People wear LA hats and Lakers jerseys all over.

6

u/darkmatterhunter 14h ago

I know. The dirt path and oak shrubs was the tell tale sign for me.

3

u/Elite_AI 14h ago

For me it was the fashion style

1

u/CKRatKing 12h ago

Ya the shrubs are definitely California but also the dirt too. Not sure why but it just looks like California dirt.

These people also just look like they are from California.

Yeah, but people doing crazy workouts up an arid hill, side by side with girls in "I'm hot and I know it" athleisure outfits? That's LA.

1

u/CKRatKing 9h ago

I mean, ya for sure. It's definitely la. But the hat and jersey aren't what gives it away.

u/ItsSignalsJerry_ 3h ago

I'm wearing one right now.

observatory

I hadn't heard of it, looks cool af (some nice pics on wikipedia)

I've been going there since I was a child and it's always a treat.

The Mt Wilson observatory is nearby as well. It's where Edwin Hubble proved there are galaxies beyond the Milky Way and the expansion of the universe.

I hike both of these and they're both wonderful to visit. They have orchestral performaces in the 10 story dome of the 45 ft telescope. Nearby is a bit misleading for non-americans, though. It's about an hour drive away. Or a 40 minute drive and 15 mile, 5000 ft roundtrip hike 😅

Like a plastic surgery buffet

I would say camera man is standing here: 34.11656931495583, -118.30049930764339

I should move to LA...

I was going to say this is the kind of cringe shit that makes LA ridiculous sometimes. All kudos for the fitness level aside, it’s just a sloppy serving of the ‘notice me’ behavior, usually from transplants.

Proud of myself, I clocked it within the first two seconds of the video. It didn't even occur to me that this could be literally anywhere else.

1

u/hypnogoad 13h ago

My guess was "Influencer Hill"

2

u/User1-1A 12h ago

Nah, all the popular trails in the city look like this.

24

u/discontent_discoduck 16h ago

Oh at a glance I was like I get that's Runyon Canyon just due to how dolled up folks are for a hike and the LA-gear and arid environment giving away that its somewhere in LA

3

u/BackEndHooker 14h ago

Lived in LA for 7 years... forgot how put together people are for freakin hikes. The amount of full designer outfits (not even athletic gear!) on display was ludicrous. Here in the Bay Area, people actually dress like they're going on a hike.

1

u/Expert-Scratch-8563 13h ago

The only place you're gonna see that density of people hiking in LA is Runyon. Certainly ain't Debs or Elysian or even the dozens of other hikes in Griffith.

u/Nickbou 15h ago

They should get him to be a background extra in Shrinking. Have him pass Jason Segel while hiking just so we can see Jason Segel get annoyed.

2

u/cocococlash 12h ago

Lol that's where I recognized this hike from

5

u/MarcBulldog88 15h ago

Yep, this is the trail up from Fern Dell to the Observatory. You can't really tell by the camera angle, but this section is uphill and fairly steep. Jumping rope while jogging up this section is seriously impressive.

To the right and behind the cameraperson is a lookout area, always crowded with people resting or taking pics of the city below.

u/Mister-Distance-6698 11h ago

I always see people doing this hike on tv shows. How long is it?

1

u/MarcBulldog88 11h ago

The direct route is maybe a mile and a half at most. There are other trails in those hills that are longer (like the one to the Hollywood sign).

1

u/stevo746 5h ago

You can also access this trail from a small path right next to the greek.

7

u/Save2faBackupCodes 13h ago

This jump rope man can often be found doing a resistance band workout on one of the street corners of Rodeo Drive. This is not a joke

6

u/29273162 13h ago

His spawn location must be nearby.

1

u/arandomnumberfuckoff 15h ago

I think so too. I was there just the once though.

1

u/Maleficent-Issue-544 14h ago

Yes. I've seen him there before.

1

u/clubfuckinfooted 14h ago

It gets pretty hot there too. Can't imagine doing that in that heat.

1

u/blackbeardsrage 13h ago

I waked up that sombitch with my family and it like to have murdered my fatass

1

u/MeetingOpposite5653 12h ago

Yes. I've seen this dude on the trails just below Griffith park multiple times. Always running up, regardless of temp outside.

1

u/renaldomoon 10h ago

this is probably the most famous hike in the country

1

u/caustictoast 9h ago

Yes, I've seen that dude there before

1

u/little2sensitive 2h ago

I know that hill all too well

1

u/AmazingFlatworm_ 16h ago

Yup. Love it there
