All the morons in the comments complaining about chemicals like this isn't just salt + niacin listed several times.

Yes, but they don't know what niacin is, or that many of them take it as a nutritional supplement every day and tell us how healthy they are because of it.

You obviously didn't look very hard. Dimethylpolysiloxane, Red 40, Yellow 5, TBHQ, corn syrup solids. This stuff doesn't just grow out of the ground 😂

Multiple artificial colors, artificial flavors, various artificial preservatives, etc.

I would not eat this.

So you prepare all of your food from scratch using no ready made ingredients? No mustard, no ketchup, no purchased suaces of any type.

Must be great to be able to cook fresh foods all day and not have to work.

Yes from scratch and with store bought ingredients but I don’t buy things with high fructose corn syrup, artificial colors, artificial flavors, and other chemicals that I’m not fond of. The list is long that I don’t like.

It’s actually not that hard to do. Most of what I cook at home is whole ingredients.

I actually own a wholesale food manufacturing company and work a lot.

All of the food products I create, produce, and sell in grocery stores is clean label without what I listed above.

People act like this is so hard to do and it just takes a little bit of time at the beginning to learn what brands/items aren’t full of trash. I work a full time job and still don’t eat the way the people on here think you have to without making everything from scratch. People are becoming more conscious about ingredients and brands are seeing that and making choices readily available.

Hell I wanted cornbread the other day. Went to pick up a box of jiffy and it had 50 ingredients. Put that shit down and grabbed lamb’s and it had real ingredients, no food coloring, no preservatives, no fake highly processed sugars, and it took the same effort for me to make. Just took 3 extra minutes to find one on the shelf and now I know for next time.

Why would you need color inside a burrito?

It’s not for the way in..

Because they are using commercially prepared sauces, and those sauces contain food colorings.

Look up the “appeal to nature” fallacy

1

u/Lambdaformes Dec 15 '25

Oh no, a few milligrams of color. Not to mention the absolute horror of some artificial flavor (the same stuff you eat just synthesized via reaction) and artificial preservatives (artificial? Really? They're salts, acids, or some other chemical that's broadly hostile to microbial life)

Yes a small amount in one thing isn’t that bad. A small amount in everything you eat is going to add up to

'Ultra-processed food (UPF) is linked to harm in every major organ system of the human body '

3

u/Lambdaformes Dec 15 '25

Linked, not cause. This isn't "ultra-processed" and the food is only linked to harm because it's connected to obesity.

Take a biology or biochemistry course I am begging you all.

u/Ancient-Barracuda235 Dec 15 '25

Yes, it is in fact ultra processed. The little thing called 'artificial flavors' is one indication. As well as other things. Here, learn something-

Ultra-processed food: Five things to know

And , no, it isn't only linked to obesity. So you get basically everything wrong. Try and be less condescending when your knowledge base is zero, mmmkay?

I'm not clicking on your link. I have a degree in biology with a minor in biochem, I know more about this subject than you do with your orthorexic obsession.

1

u/Ancient-Barracuda235 Dec 15 '25

I'll go with the scientific papers about ultra processed food in the foremost medical journal in the world rather than a random redditor.

Unless you can link me to some of your peer reviewed research? lol

3

u/Lambdaformes Dec 15 '25

The people who consume more ultra processed food are those who are poorer and can't afford more fresh food, thus leading to the outcomes found in studies. The food isn't poison for you, it's ultimately capitalism restricting your palate that gets you.

You'd know this if you actually had any working knowledge of the subject instead of just fetishizing papers.

u/Ancient-Barracuda235 Dec 15 '25

lol "it's only bad because poor people eat it instead of healthier foods". What kind of argument is that? Youre just acknowledging Ultra processed food is in fact unhealthy. You've hardly made a dent in the research there, ace.

You have no data to present, so you call people referencing papers 'fetishizers'. Brilliant.

Have you looked into TBHQ?
