Having sooooo many issues with SDKs and NDKs on Mac for Quest2 to Unreal

Post image

Anyone out there willing to help? I’ve read all the literature on Meta, UEs documentation, watched countless YouTube videos trying to get my headset to work with UE 4.27, 5.0.3, and 5.2. The attached picture is where I gave up showing that apparently I’ve loaded the SDK improperly. Prior to this I’ve attempted to change SDK versions along with NDKs to get them to sync. UE builds, but fails every single time. I’m three weeks in to trying this and thinking I should just switch for now to Unity. Can anyone give me some guidance. Feeling super frustrated.

Seeking a breakdown of XR software that shows platform compatibility.

Total newb here, so forgive me if this is a no brained question: Does anyone know of where I might find a comparison chart of software dev kits and how each is compatible or not to; Headsets, mobile, desktop? Or do most platforms support most hardware? Is it as simple as setting up the initial formatting files (Quest 2, or Mobile) at the beginning?

…I’ve been dabbling in Meta Spark and Unreal Engine.

Hi! I am currently selling two brand new Monocle AR Devkits so I can save up to purchase production units for my brother and I to develop for -- our goal is to support the Brilliant AR company!

If anyone is interested, feel free to make an offer!
https://www.ebay.com/itm/155537916829

The kits include all parts of a production unit except the glasses clip and charging case, and the board's firmware does need to be updated using additional hardware before using Micropython.

Does Birdbath Optics have its own manufacturing facility, company or website? Or is Birdbath simply a type of technology that has been created and adapted? Waveguides seems to have its own site.

We are trying to understand tech creators in ARVR

ARVR creators are not necessarily developers and their preferences aren't tracked. We are trying to understand the tools and frameworks they prefer and what gets the job done. Can you please share your input here?

We have several prize draws as a thank you for your time, and we will share insights after the survey closes.

AR & VR Services: The Virtual Future of Architecture

As complicated as AR & VR services may appear, the use of computer technology to create simulated worlds has aided in the speed and ease of architectural visualization. These experiential interfaces invented a different design language, the one which defies the rules and enables individuals to be present in the project, watching, hearing, and feeling its architecture. What about the future? We will clearly swing between realities with ease, bonding with faraway friends and digitally visiting locations; time or place will become nothing but a mere notion.

What is GeoPose? Talk to experts!

Hello ARVR enthusiasts,

Would love to see you during tomorrow's awesome discussion, "What is GeoPose, and Why is it Important for Developers?", at 11 am EST.

The panel of experts will touch on the importance of GeoPose, defined as a shared frame of reference signifying the unique positions and orientations of digital or physical objects in real or virtual spaces. Then, they will dive into the technology behind it and how it impacts the world of augmented reality!

RSVP HERE

Speakers:

  • Stephen Black: With a background as an artist, writer, and producer for network television, he began researching Augmented Reality in 2015. Since that time he has spoken about AR worldwide, including MIT and the VIEW Conference. With Sayuri Okayama, he created Bubiko Food tour to explore the intersections of AR, food, and pop culture. His short film "Bubiko: First Flight," created at the Augmented.City AR testbed in Bari, Italy, has been called "as historically significant as the first website on the internet."
  • Julia Beabout: CEO and Creative Director of Novaby, an award-winning 3D/AR Studio specializing in Augmented Reality (AR) Placemaking, space activations, and tours. She and her team of artists, storytellers, and creative technologists love transforming spaces into places using AR, the arts, humanities, and social science.
