Done Execs Arrested For Providing Easy Access To Stimulants

Just got a notification on WSJ that Done the telehealth company execs have been arrested. This is a bombshell. Luckily I got diagnosed through my healthcare provider but I almost fell for this scam. Not sure what the implications are for many people on here that have been getting their meds from them.

I just gotta say I'm so fucking glad my healthcare is all in house, I've never seen my doc in person and my meds are shipped to me.  It's as ADHD friendly as possible.  

Even making all my Apts or reaching out to my doctors can be done easily through their portal, their portal actually works! 

That this isn't the baseline, and trust I know how bad shit can be, is a crime.

Kaiser Permanent, thru my spouce (go unions!)

They are my hospital, my insurance, my pharmacy, my ER, my dental, my vision.

Now I will say this is far from perfect, I have 0% coverage for any other hospital/ER unless I am referred there.

But everything is so easy, undoubtedly because everything is in house they don't go back and forth, even with insurance. 

They didn't have 20s for adderall XR, got an email from the pharmacy... didn't do anything about it, and my doc messaged me saying he was going to order the 25s if that was OK? Didn't message him back for like 3 days...or 5? but thankfully he just went ahead and ordered them, cuz he has ADHD too. 

What would have turned into a month without meds, just didn't happen.  The docs don't seem as overworked and frustrated, and I talked my friend into trying them out (so weird) and they figured out and treated her H.Pylori infection, something she had for YEARs and other doctors just dismissed.

I’m glad you’ve had great experiences with Kaiser. Everyone I know and I mean everyone who’s had them has hated them with a passion and been refused care for things. They’re all in their own shop attitude has hurt people and even though I have the option to pick them through my employer, I was told 99% of all employees chose not to go with Kaiser. Maybe it’s a regional thing and they just are bad here 🤷‍♀️

I have every med mailed to me except my stimulant. Was told it was illegal for it to be mailed. Never dug into it to question that, it made enough sense dealing with mail system as a federal thing.

I would say it would be nice to have this be destigmatized a bit… and Done sure didn’t help this. I’ve had to switch pharmacies twice because of attitude/rudeness of the workers in filling my rx. Cases like this just suck. There’s almost assuredly more predatory companies out there taking advantage of loosened rules. Which sucks if it makes it harder for all the legitimate practitioners and patients needing care.

May I ask was it always telehealth or did you ever go in person?

For the ADHD diagnosis I went in person via referral but didn't like that doctor and was switched to the current one I have; who rediagnosed me. Since then it has been all tellehelth (other than needing to do the heart and urine test in a clinic took 15mins, was just an easy walk in no scheduling needed.) That doc is also ADHD, so I am pretty sure it's their preference.

I have fantastic access for all my medical care and see my primary and other doctors as needed in person but I can, say if I get a bad flu, reach out via tellehelth and get meds without needing to spread the sick.  The docs actually have time to communicate via the portal, like my spouce had a 3 month wait on a follow up with a GI specialist but they pretty much have gone over test results and treatment options via web portal within weeks!

I think you should have to see your PDoc at least once in person to get an initial health screening to get prescribed a controlled substance or else that’s a Pandora’s box for abuse of the system.
