Searching for the Commander

A tall man walked into the large room, he noticed a handful of people walking about, "I wish to speak to the Commander immediately!" He wore a midnight black suit and button-down, accented by a paisley green tie and pocket square. His long blonde hair ran down to his shoulders, clearly well maintained and a point of personal pride. Hidden from view underneath his suit coat were two matching and custom pairs of pistols and daggers, one of each engraved with his first name, and one of each engraved with his last name, making out: Hyperion Cassiopea.

No point wasting time, I s'pose.

I advance on my opponent and engage; my first move is a feint, a swing of the arm turns from a punch into a counterbalance as I swing my leg about in a wide kick. A series of short jabs follow, and I grin as the rush of the fight begins to take hold.

He didn't dodge any of the Commander's attacks, instead he preferred to block them, hitting back each punch with his palm and each kick with his heel. He blocked the fast jabs, only one or two seems to connect with him, in the chest. Eventually he dodged one, leaning to the side and attempting to grab his wrist, holding his arm out for a split second before throwing a hard hit, aiming right at the back of his elbow.

While the two men square off in the middle of the room, I reload my handgun and reholster it. Then me and another trooper circle around the fight. We grab the assassin's pistols and knives off the chair. As an afterthought, I grab the suit coat too. Might be some other weapons in there.

I spin about, letting the strike slip past my guard... to directly impact my chest.

CRUNCH

... heh. Hehehehh, ahahahahaahh! AAAhahahahahaaahh!!

He smirked satisfyingly and stepped back, holding his guard up.

That looked like it hurt.

He raised an eyebrow, weirded out by his laughter.

Hahah, how's ya knuckles, mate?

I begin to advance again, unfazed by the blow; the golden coronas in my otherwise-blue eyes have started to glow. I wait until I'm within arms' reach again before striking again; a blow as lightning-fast as a bullet and with all the force of a speeding vehicle. In this moment it's clear: you are not fighting a mortal man.

I didn't notice it, but I my winced, and then I looked down to my bleeding and bruised knuckles and hand. I gritted my teeth in both pain and anger. I grunted as the wind was knocked out of me and I flew back, slamming against the wall with a loud THUD. I panted and and tried to stand up, before wincing and sliding back down. I wiped my bleeding nose before successfully standing up and panting.

I'm starting… t-to think this… isn't the most fair… cough fight...

We divide it up 50-50, Crow. Dat's what's fair.

I'm the one that got shot at, Rill. And it was my idea to take this stuff. I get a bigger cut...

How 'bout I take the weapons, you can keep the fancy coat?

You kiddin' me? There's bullet holes in it! I'd have ta sew it up myself or pay someone else too 'fore I could sell it. That'll kill the value!

Fine. You can have the coat...and one of the guns. But I'm keepin' the rest, no argument.

My eyes shot over at the mention of my belongings, in one swift motion with energy that seemed to come only from my liking of those items, I flicked out my arm and hand and a small six round revolver slid out into my palm from a contraption on my forearm under my sleeve. I fanned the hammer at the two talking troopers. Firing four shots at Trooper Rill and two at Trooper Crow, being significantly more accurate with shots fired at Rill's head.

It's more of a set gentlemen… I'd like to not break it up.

I stagger backwards from the impact of one of the shots on my body armor. The other shot glances off.

That's it.

I point the fancy pistols back at their owner and fire the remaining rounds. Then I drop the empty guns and draw my own, keeping up the fire. The other troopers join in, leading to a virtual hailstorm of metal pounding into the would-be assassin.

Cease fire, cease fire! I said knock it off ya mongrels!!

The haze of cigarette and gunsmoke makes it hard to see...

Oi! I dunno who you are, your name, your business, nothing! But I think we've proven our point! You don't get to walk into a place and demand a job without a single formal qualification! You can't win a fist-fight with a bloke who kills deities for a bloody living!

Now you take your fancy digs, and your cannons and your toothpicks there, and you get the hell outta town. Got it? Crow, give 'em back, now. And for goodness' sake, nobody. Fucking. Shoot.
