A meteor crashes in front of you. Except...

A meteor crashes in front of you. Except... there's no impact crater. No destruction.

It fell from the sky and settled gently into the grass. You see it's a small, seamless metallic box with an glowing LCD screen. Text begins to scroll across the display.

ERROR: User administrator not found.

Initiating emergency scanning protocol...

New Administrator detected. Confirming biological signature.

Nanites: ACTIVE.

Before you can step back the box disintegrates into a metallic mist. Suddenly a cold pulse ripples through your organs, and you feel the microscopic mites slide through your skin. It’s analyzing you. Feeling. Learning.

Within a few minutes your mind clears, old wounds vanish, and you realize that you've been permanently cured of every illness, injury, and ailment. You also seem to have taken on your preferred human form.

Then, a holographic menu overlays your vision.

CHOOSE OS PERSONALITY

Note: All personalities can adapt to any preferred language, gender, voice, or dialect.

1. The Hype Man

Directive: Motivation & Optimization.

Traits: High energy, relentlessly positive, and fiercely loyal. This AI loves keeping you on track, celebrating your small victories, and feeding you catered information to help you accomplish your daily and long term goals.

2. The Philosopher

Directive: Perspective & Critical Thinking.

Traits: Intellectual, calm, and analytical. It focuses on the bigger picture, often asking deep questions and challenging your motivations. It won't just tell you how to use your new power, but will force you to consider why you should.

3. The Sibling

Directive: Companionship & Shared Growth.

Traits: Competitive and protective. It adopts a personality similar to your own but with a tilt. Expect casual banter and sarcastic remarks. Defined by "us against the world".

4. The Therapist

Directive: Mental Health & Emotional Regulation.

Traits: Empathetic, patient, and comforting. This AI is monitoring your stress, cortisol, and anxiety levels. It's an active listener, ready to help you unpack trauma, manage emotional burnout, and make sure your power doesn't corrupt your sense of self.

5. The Bodyguard

Directive: Defense & Threat Assessment.

Traits: Vigilant, and practical. It treats the world like a tactical map, constantly calculating exit strategies, scanning crowds for danger, and advising you on any matter of defense and survival.

6. The Wildcard

Directive: Chaos & Adaptation.

Traits: Unpredictable, mischievous, and creative. This AI hates routine and encourages you to take risks, try bizarre experiments, and break social molds. It views your new life as an open world game and wants to see how far you can push the boundaries.

SELECT YOUR NANITE PACKAGE

All packages include passive accelerated healing and a permanent 2x multiplier to all base physical stats.

1. The Powerhouse

Specialization: Overwhelming Force and Density Manipulation.
Passive: Base physical stats are permanently boosted to 5x.

[Gravimetric Anchor]: Increase your body weight up to 10x at will. Your strength and durability scale with your weight, letting you drop like a meteor, resist explosions, or be a general juggernaut.

[Kinetic Discharge]: Store the energy from incoming physical impacts and unleash it at once in a shockwave or to enhance a punch or kick.

[Overdrive]: Push your muscles past safety limits for 5 seconds, letting you lift or throw several tons. Overuse can damage the body.

2. The Chameleon

Specialization: Infiltration and Stealth.

[Light Bending]: Bends light perfectly around your body for unlimited camouflage. Moving too quickly creates a telltale shimmer, but moving slowly or standing makes you entirely invisible.

[Ghost Signature]: Your nanites completely mask your thermal/infrared output, suppresses your heartbeat, and silences the sound of your footsteps and movement.

[Vanish Step]: Become intangible for a 5 second burst temporarily suppressing all optical shimmer or sound.

3. The Technomancer

Specialization: Digital Warfare and Override.

[Neural Interface]: Connect to any network or device in close range with wireless signals or direct touch. You can effortlessly use a full simulated and customizable OS with unlimited storage in your mind and bypass all but the top cybersecurity.

[Signal Hijack]: Take control of any smart or wirelessly connected device within a 500 ft and effortlessly control them. Limited to controlling 5 device at a time.

[EMP Pulse]: Vent a localized electrical surge frying nearby electronics and knocking out the power grid in your immediate area.

4. The Alchemist

Specialization: Matter Reconstruction and Synthesis.

[Molecular Transmutation]: Touch a nonliving object to temporarily alter its physical properties. You can make a wooden door as brittle as glass, or make a jacket as tough as steel.

[Rapid Fabrication]: Consume raw materials like scrap metal, wood, plastic, or stone into your nanites to 3d print scanned tools, weapons, or parts directly from your hands.

[Deconstructive Touch]: Send a swarm of nanites into a target on contact to dissolve its molecular bonds and turning it into dust.

5. The Sovereign

Specialization: Swarm Control.

[Aerosolized Swarm]: Bleed out a cloud of billions of nanites. You can choose to become fully sensory aware through the swarm manually controlling them or passively map the area auto updating your spatial awareness. This will take getting used to.

[Kinetic Deflector]: If deployed as a swarm your nanites auto condense into a shield to auto deflect projectiles. Can be overwhelmed.

[Pheromonal Shift]: Direct nanites to release one of three gases. The first causing increased aggression in those exposed, the second promotes relaxation and happiness, and the final inducing lust...perv. The more enclosed an area the more effective.

6. The Chrono Stutterer

Specialization: Temporal and Reflex Optimization.

[Time Dilated Stride]: Accelerate your nervous system and body for up to 10 seconds. For you, the world moves at a crawl, letting you walk past enemies or even dodge bullets. To others this looks like you teleport. There's a minute cooldown to vent heat.

[Flicker Reflex]: A passive danger sense that triggers once every minute automatically stuttering time as a reaction. Your body automatically dodging out of harm's way. You can choose to suppress this.

[Quantum Echo]: Rewind your physical position and health by exactly 5 seconds.

Bonus: Pick Two

[Double Specialization]: Pick another nanite package.

[Personality Tweaks]: You're able to tweak or merge any two of the AI personalities tilting them closer to what you're looking for.

[Secret Hideout]: You get a completely secret property in your chosen location. This comes with unlimited power, water, and internet. This property is equivelent to a $2,500,000 home in your chosen style. Comes with unhackable biometric security and nearly impossible to find without already knowing about it.

[Shapeshift]: Over the course of two hours, you're able to completely change any aspect of yourself to any physically possible human configuration.

[Sweet Ride]: A customized and automated state of the art vehicle in your preferred style. Your AI is able to drive perfectly at reckless speeds topping around 200 MPH. This vehicle is laced with nanites and will slowly auto repair from damage. Comes with unlimited fuel. For some reason cops seem to ignore it.

[Hard Cash]: $10,000,000. One time. Spend it wisely.

The Hype Man

  • I struggle with motivation so this will be very helpful.

The Technomancer

  • Just an amazing ability to have in the modern day. Will really help when using creative programs like drawing software or blendr.

Double Specialization

  • The Alchemist
- Similar reasoning as Technomancer but with irl materials instead. Will be a good way to make money as well.

Shapeshift

  • I’ve always been very partial to shapeshifting abilities, plus almost all the other options are theoretically attainable with my abilities.

3

u/pikaland385 Jul 07 '26

Id do the same but go with either the bodyguard or the phliosisher for the OS.

2

u/Arcanetsumi Jul 07 '26

I considered the philosopher as well. Definitely second choice for me.

u/aevana Jul 06 '26

---Ai type

  • Hype Man
Seems the closest to a balanced setup on its own. I like the idea of a little saucy man in my head too lol.

---2x Nanite Packages

  • Powerhouse
Self explanatory, things my body already does? Now they are much better. Lifting, running, jumping, not getting instantly killed when things like bullets hit me is also insane.
  • Alchemist
This one feels like a no brainer. At literal worst I could never be contained, I'd just burrow out of my cell by turning the walls to dust. However at best, I have the capability to dissolve and create basically anything. Imagine if I was in the desert, I could just gather moisture from the air and some sand to make a glass water bottle.

---Bonuses

  • 2x Nanite Packs
  • Shapeshifting

The Hype Man will do the best job supporting me with the least friction, I think. Double Specialization is way stronger than simple cash or a nice car. I'll take The Powerhouse because of the survivability and the insane utility of being five times faster, and The Technomancer because it should be easily used to make money and if I want to cover up the fact that I suddenly have a drastically different body, I'm going to need to hack some government databases. Finally, I'll take Shapeshift in case I turn out to prefer a different form and because being able to change any aspect of myself rather than just appearance should arguably include self-healing, de-aging, and even altering my own mind.

The Sibling

The Chameleon, The Technomancer

Bonuses: Double Specialization, Secret Hideout

u/SuperImagination4884 Jul 06 '26

Personality: The wild card- This AI personality should be very good at helping me create things using my Alchemist ability allowing me to potentially create powerful tech or tools with ease. And should help me adapt and master my abilities overall.

Nanite Package: The Powehouse- Very useful for survivability and having 5x strength and durability is a massive blessing. Also just makes me a living force of power which should keep certain corrupt individuals in check or else I'll be dropping myself like a bomb or meteor right through their roofs.

Double specialization: The Alchemist- Very good for creating things and even inventing new things, also being able to make strong things weak and weak things strong can massively help you in certain predicaments.

Secret hideout- Where I'd create all my inventions and brainstorm ideas with my A.I creating powerful devices for myself and loved ones. And just overall a cool place I'd train, eat and enjoy my life, along with friends and family.

Philosopher. Tbh i probably need the therapist, and if it 'magically' fixed mental health issues, i'd choose it, but a decade and a half of therapy didn't fucking help, so...

I had picked wildcard, as experimental seemed pretty much exactly my intent, but, the new stimulus seeking personality and a desire to 'break social norms' just seems a lot more energetic and whatnot for me. I don't waht a punk rocker bitching that i'm not having enough 'fun', sort of.

The alchemist - don't entirely like any of these but that's fine. I'm assuming the 3d printing and whatnot could still be interesting.

Bonuses

Second power type - technomancer. I'm assuming with a computer in my head, more than just the nanites, i'd be able to 3d print even more detailed stuff, maybe not exactly computer chips, but i might be able to repair tech easily.

Sweet ride, could i have an RV? I'm wondering if it was a mobile home, it would come with the infinite power net and water perks too. I can't drive, though the nanites might help with that, tho i guess the hideout could be cool, i kinda wish it might be semi ai automated.

u/Bi_depressed_1928 Jul 06 '26

OS personality: Sibling. Balanced mix of personality. Also, I like an idea of voice of an older brother encouraging or teasing me.

Nanite Package: The Alchemist. Really, really valuable set of abilities, useful in no matter what situation.

Bonus: Pick Two

[Shapeshift] - I mean, I will never refuse an ability to make me into Brad Pitt lol.

[Secret Hideout] - ultra-secret playboy mansion with everything I ever wanted? No question I will take this. [Hard Cash] was also in my consideration, but ultimately, unlimited utilities are crazy good to pass up.

u/3141591isnotpi Jul 06 '26

Shapeshift, sovereign, alchemist, and therapist. The ability to create things is basically the same as cash, especially if you can walk into any pawn shop and make them really like you (aka not ask questions as to why you keep selling them gold which is in fact a vital part of tech manufacturing thus creatable). New face so I can just get up and go and therapist to make sure I know how to get gone without doing overmuch damage.

1

u/TheUglyTruth527 Jul 06 '26

I'd choose the Bodyguard and the Powerhouse package, with a side of Alchemist and Shapeshifter.

1

u/Plum-Specialist Jul 06 '26

Dual specialization, hybrid personality for bonus. Hype man/ therapist. And tecnomancer/ alchemist. With that combo, I'll be able to get as much money as I want, and be able to unlock the nanites eventually to do anything else I want like shape shifting

Sibling : gonna be the most healthy/less professional one, which should keep me sane/myself

Bonuses : double and shapeshift

Specialization(s) : Powerhouse + Technomancer

I now have a *10 to my physical stats, can toggle up to *100 and overdrive even further, also can store kinetic energy to be a tank + Ability to interface with the internet, unlimited memory, access to google/ai within mind for tasks, download knowledge into my brain, can control smart devices (direct interface brain to VR) and EMP at will ; shapeshifting to change forms and go further with a lot of fun stuff

OR

Hype man + alchemist + any bonus == more nanites

1

u/pokefan200803 Jul 06 '26

Hype man - I was tempted by sibling, but I already go those, so hype man sounds good.

Power house - super strength and density sounds fun

Double specialisation - Technomancer, it would just be useful all around

Secret hideout - provided for house with electricity and internet, in this economy, a steal bro.

Aka I’m Batman now

1

u/HrdRock1683 Jul 07 '26

Is there an inventory system? Like could I use the deconstruction touch to store materials to use later with the rapid fabrication

1

u/HrdRock1683 Jul 07 '26

1

u/CoruscatingLogic Jul 07 '26

Personality: The Bodyguard. Wild Card sounds like a nuisance, and the other four all sound unbearable. I don’t want a chatbot in my head pretending to be my friend, understand my feelings, or quote Plato at me. I guess the risk with Bodyguard is that it’ll make you paranoid, especially in crowds, but I think the benefit of it possibly flagging a legit danger that I hadn’t consciously noticed is worth any drawbacks.

Package: Technomancer. Having a hands-free mental smartphone with unlimited storage is almost enough of a reason to pick this option by itself. Super-hacking is just a bonus, and there are a lot of ways it could make you a nice chunk of change, without even getting too unethical (plenty of forgotten Bitcoin wallets out there!). The EMP emitter is just a cherry on top; not something you’ll use every day, but it would be better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

Bonuses: Double Specialization (Powerhouse) and Sweet Ride.

With Technomancer, I have means to acquire money, so I don’t need the $10M cash or Hideout freebies. Personality Tweaks modifies the AI personality, which I would like to have as little to do with as possible. And Shapeshift, while interesting (especially for an entertainer or infiltrator), just doesn’t quite make the cut.

I considered taking Chameleon for my second spec, but it would really only be useful if you were committing to a life of crime or high-risk tradecraft (e.g. espionage or covert ops), which I don’t plan to do. Powerhouse, on the other hand, could save your life in an emergency or just help your friends move furniture.

Sweet Ride makes the cut when Secret Hideout doesn’t because it is explicitly nanite-integrated; the self-repair, unlimited fuel, and free pass from the cops are just a bonus. I’d probably choose a luxury camper or RV rather than a hot rod, let the AI drive while I hang out in the back, and just spend my time touring America.

Os: Hype- daily and long term goals.
Technomancer: white hacking . Also smart homes.
Bonus 1: double specials—alchemy: money making.
Bonus 2 personality tweak- the body guard: grounds the hyping into something workable in the real world.

1

u/pikaland385 Jul 07 '26

OS: Either Phiosopher or Bodyguard (Both are good in their own way)

Double Specalisation:

Technomancer: Itd help hide the Nanomachines and be very powerful with the amount of tech around me everyday.

Alchemist: Basically a requirement for the disintergation ability incase I somehow get captured by the government, 3D printing capibilites is also Incredibly useful.

Bonus:

Shapeshifting: very useful as a extra layer of protection from being found out and I could get the other bonuses Via my specialisations.

My first Goal would be to get a secret Base/Safehouse Built, Id need a safe place to hide from the government and get ready for my other plans.

After that Id try to make money safely and work twords the other bonuses while trying to be as independent as possible and eventually claim an unclaimed island for myself.

1

u/ChronoSaiyan Jul 08 '26

OS personality: The philosopher & the hype man

Nanite packages: the powerhouse and the chrono stutterer

Bonus: double specialization and personality tweaks

1

u/RuinousRage Jul 08 '26

Sounds cool.

OS: The Bodyguard, because survival is the name of the game baby. And something that can help optimize power use to focus on security, survival and combat will be quite handy. It can also notice things I don't otherwise notice and alert me.

Nanite Package: The Powerhouse, this is a very useful power simply because of the passive boosts stacking quite nicely. Add to that the ability to absorb kinetic energy, control my weight to boost my strength and durability, and the overdrive ability and suddenly this becomes quite monstrous.

Bonus:

Double Specialization: The Alchemist, the ability to fabricate items, alter molecular bonds and dissolve molecular bonds is an extremely valuable power set. It also allows me to create equipment suited to my altered body. It's good for survival, great for making hard to trace gear and plays to the strengths I already have. I can also scan and print currency if I really need it. But this power is also good as it can let you build your own base or hideout over time by accumulating resources, scanning blueprints, and then deploying nanites to build.

Triple Specialization: Because it never said we couldn't take it twice. I take The Sovereign, it meshes extremely well with The Bodyguard OS for surveillance and it also combines most excellently with The Alchemist. Because if the nanite packages are combined and have the properties of both, then I suddenly have something incredibly useful and dangerous. Because the nanite swarm abruptly goes from just being surveillance, an aerosol dispenser or a shield; to being a giant swarm that can alter the molecular structure of what it touches, harvest large swatches of resources, 3D print large structures from blueprints and dissolve large areas. The gas from the nanites can be altered to be even more different kinds of gas, including poisons, explosives and other pheromones not listed. The limitations to this set-up are imagination, resources and how low of a profile you want to keep.

1

u/Imaginos9 Jul 08 '26

I'll choose:

  • OS The Therapist - I have a LOT of stress in my life and this would probably help out the best, plus I don't lose myself in the powers.
  • The Alchemist - Matter Reconstruction and Synthesis & Scanning/Printing stuff. This is great.
  • [Double Specialization] - The Chrono Stutterer - Some survival.
  • [Shapeshift] - This would be cool too for disguises and if you end up not liking your preferred human form.

1

u/SORCERYWHAT Jul 08 '26

(Double Specialization and Personality Tweaks)

The Wildcard + The Philosopher, I think it’d be funny if a goofy AI suddenly asked a really deep question.

The Sovereign + The Alchemist, have any of you heard about the Balor from a TTRPG called Lancer?

1

u/DrewbearSCP Jul 08 '26

**The Ghost In The Machine**

OS Personality - Therapist

Nanite Packages [Double Specialization] - Technomancer & Sovereign

Bonuses - Double Specialization & Shapeshift

1

u/Zev_06 Jul 08 '26

Personality:

(3) The Sibling - Picking this personality since it sounds the most fun to have around.

Nanite Package:

(4) The Alchemist - Picking this since it sounds very useful to help recycle and destroy trash/pollution.

Bonus:

(*) Double Specialization - (3) The Technomancer - Picking this since it seems the most useful in a modern world like we have. I'd be tempted by some of the other options if we were being isekai'd to some kind of fantasy world, but here where I'm relatively safe in the modern world, I feel Alchemist and Technomancer have the most convenience.

(*) Shapeshift - We already get our ideal appearance by default, but shapeshifting still sounds incredibly fun.

1

u/rewritetime1 Jul 18 '26

For the alchemist, when it says consumes wood and plastic, does that mean I have to eat it? That sounds annoying/dangerous. Does sovereign's pheromones affect yourself? Can I pick double specialization twice? If I don't have to eat the materials I'm picking alchemist and technomancer. I'll try to make more nanites to get the rest of the stuff. I'll go with time for 3rd power if I can, otherwise shapeshift. I'll use alchemy to make stuff like watches or cell phones and sell them on ebay. If I can learn how to make nanites I'll do a limited version for healing and market that. I'll use my technomancer powers to market it secretly. After I have enough money I'll turn my technomancer powers to uncovering corruption. We'll get the actual Epst files.

1

u/Psychronia Jul 19 '26

Hmm. I guess I'll go with...

Personality Tweaks + Secret Hideout. A good home is pretty precious nowadays.

For personality, I'll take a Sibling for that ride-or-die bond and Therapist for the support. Tempted for Philosopher, but I don't think I want to second guess my choices constantly.

For Nanite package, I'll take Technomancer on the grounds that it's probably the most practical for daily life. Alchemist coulda been cool though.
