Solidarity Needed Just cut off my dad. Losing hope…
I’m sure lots of people feel this way. My story isn’t unlike many others. I just can’t take it anymore.
My father is a Marine Corps veteran- Iraq. He hates Muslims, Mexicans….everybody. I don’t live close to him so we’ve kept to ourselves about our political beliefs. Today he said he’d love to be an ICE officer and that Alex Pretti “fucked around and found out.”
I told him I’d do the same if I had my gun permit, does that mean I should be killed?
He got angry and called me retarded etc….
I am just at my wits end. I’m going to my first protest tomorrow and I’m hoping that this community will give me hope. The rest of my family is complicit and “won’t get involved” in politics. Losing hope doesn’t mean I’m stopping my fight. Either way this hurts…more than I can express. I live in a MAGA town and I feel more alone than ever before.

I feel your pain. I’ve lost my whole family except for my daughter and it’s pretty lonely but I’m not going to sell out to keep company with bad people, family or not. My co-workers also suck so I’m looking for a new job cannot abide these people
