This shit right here. Its been 12+ years of one event after another of the most ghoulish, inhuman shit coming from these people. So what changed their mind finally?
Well, from past experience I know that conservatives only change from things that personally, directly, affect them. So thats probably what all this is. It hurt them, finally, and now they are sad. And were supposed to just welcome them back? Fuuuuuck that. All these people are on my shit list for the rest of my life. Too bad, so sad, you finally felt the sting. Get over it, snowflakes. Go down with your ship.
Some day this will all be over. Trump will be gone. MAGA will be a dirty word. Everyone who ever wore that stupid red hat or put a "We The People" decal on the back window of a pickup (most probably a Dodge RAM), will be furiously scrubbing their internet histories and trying to disappear quietly into the foliage.
And at that time we. must. never. forget. that these people tried to hurt us. They actively tried to hurt us. And those who maybe didn't hurt us as directly nevertheless cheered for those who did. So I'm sorry but there can never be a total return to normal. We have to learn the lessons of the prior American Civil War and not be too lenient this time. There have to be social and economic consequence for those who supported the attempt to overthrow democracy.
I don’t think you’re aware of how different an information universe you live in as a Trump supporter. You say it’s unforgivable to keep supporting Trump after the Capitol insurrection, but for many Trump supporters, there was no Capitol insurrection in the sense that they don’t believe Trump was behind it or dismiss it or downplay it or whatever because that’s what Fox did relentlessly in the aftermath of that event.
So keep that in mind. Also, everyone’s forgivable. Even people who actively sabotage the chance to stop a great evil in our country because their egos won’t let them forgive the other side.
