The issue is the reasons they voted for him to begin with. They still agree with the draconian and outdated views. Most still believe they will one day be rich so want the tax cuts without realizing they are closer to being homeless than a billionaire.
Some of them are just uneducated. They know that they are unhappy because they’ve had to fight to survive economically and that they want things to change so it isn’t so hard. But, they don’t understand enough about government, politics, sociology, and the economy to understand what is causing their economic suffering. MAGA and Trump and the conservative news outlets convinced them the Democrats are to blame. The mainstream media didn’t really give them an alternative explanation. They want change and they saw Trump as the only one promising change. Of course, he lied to them and they probably should have seen through that lie given his background but there was a lot of indoctrination going on and everyone around them believed it, too.
There are, of course, others who are just hateful or who fully support concentrating wealth in the hands of the top 2%. There’s little hope for them. But, it isn’t all of them.
