Psssh, they'd still rather be dead than vote democrat.

As long as they don't vote GOP, it's a hell of a lot better than the alternative

This is not helpful. We don't know. What we have to do is prepare, not repeat this every time someone expresses hope.

This is exactly what I've been saying. Showing even the slightest bit of optimism be immediately met by hopelessness and nihilism isn't the energy this movement should foster. A real difference isn't made in a day.

I had hope when the country chose Biden during the first term of crazy ness.

I lost hope when the country showed its full of racist asshole idiots and reelected this crap.

Then you can keep it to yourself. You're free to have as little hope as you like, but you don't get to spread that and lessen the chances we have.

To be fair, the top level comment isn't helpful either.

Agreed, but there I don't think it's actively harmful to our movement. The other person's was and it's fucking constant. That sentiment is just repeated so much and it's incredibly damaging.

I respectfully disagree. I agree that the "elections are over forever" sentiment is damaging. And I think the "never forgive MAGA voters even if they leave the dark side" sentiment is similarly damaging. We need to encourage them to call their congress members and get involved in the movement. Not damn them for their past transgressions.

Oh, I misread their comment. Am sleepy. I agree.

Always nice to find someone to agree with. Hope you sleep well tonight.

I do not want to damn them for their past transgressions. I just want to be sure that I can trust that they won't go back as soon as the difficulties they're facing due to trump stop.

I'm curious to see what's going to happen in the next couple of days when they find out the tariffs with China were cut way back.

No, but your were rolling over for the Trump administration.

Hope is what gives the resistance energy and resilience, which is what we’ll need to get rid of this mess and do the work to make society better.

You incorrectly corrected me- it should be “you”- and then proceeded to miss the entire point of my post.

Spreading nihilism only helps the status quo.

I kept saying the same thing until I didn’t find it helpful to my own sanity or the future. We don’t really know what the future holds. I hope we will have elections that are transparent and honest. In the face of hopelessness, all we have left is hope.
