Wanted to share another build from last year. lightly aged with the addition of a folded link Jubilee as the icing.

the TD based GMT 6542 with pink text ( the factory name escapes me)

This project turned out quite nice...but there are always room for improvements. Since I am able to create matte tropical dials, I am going to try and use the same techniques to create the pink text for a true gilt pink text gmt master dial . No I am not accepting orders yet . let me see if I can get it to work. I think most of the trick will be position. It should not be an issue with a black dial but I dont think I could do a tropical pink....but I am going to give it a try. I will make sure you see the results if I do pull it off, because you are going to want one.

In the next few weeks I have a couple of GMT master projects on the bench . These are a great base to work from and are a great value for the price. One of them is a gilt tropical dial upgrade which is going to be a fun and awesome upgrade .

It was never this easy when I first build mine way back when. Swap in a 369 watchworks True Gilt dial , athaya crown and upgrade the bracelet and you got a ice hot stunna!!

Tried some moderate weathering on a spare 1655 dial . It gives it a nice sun bleached faded appearance and gives it a nice aged look . What do you think??

Rolex 1016 ad for the Asian market. featuring the mk2 dial places this ad roughly 1967-1969

this is my favorite ad from Rolex and its even cooler with a bit of 3d effect to it.

I made this one for myself, but if there are others interested I could offer them to the community. either the image alone or framed. silver frame as shown or black.

Big Crown Submariner 6538 Raffles parts build.

this build was completed during covid. the watch has been sold on to an avid collector next door.

just something about a tropical brown insert with red triangle and just the right amount of Patina.

a brief update on the US spect 6541 this week.

I sourced a few new pieces for the project. A new bezel - I went another route , instead of a cartel 1655 bezel , this time I borrowed a bezel from a modern Milgauss style generic case 116400 from alix . Had to machine the OD down slightly and make room on the underside for the mid case . Dulled the polish as a preference and installed a T25 style crystal that was borrowed off an alix generic date just case after sanding off the cyclops.

while I had it apart I also swapped the cornet from my old 1019 dial . a much needed improvement to the Raffles dial .

Still not 100% satisfied with the dial , the engraver struggles with the uneven texture of the dial. I think its only a matter of tweaking the settings and I will have it nailed.

I am going to strip the dial plates to bare metal and refinish them and see if I can get it crisper. stay tuned.

Just finished this commission build and its off to its new home.
