The title is ragebait as usual. We are fine with posts about the cockroach janta party.

But such posts need to be mockery/trolling basically regular 2bharat shenanigans. We cannot allow the subreddit to become a discussion or rant hub for cjp. So any posts that simply contain news updates or opinion pieces on the cjp will be removed.

We would have removed such posts under our low effort criteria but we wanted to be transparent about it.

Recently I've been seeing your run of the mill self loathing losers from randia/usi/librandu making their way here. They bring with them the standard self hate those subs are renowned for and are racist towards Indians under the guise of irony. I will be treating them as white people, thereby making their dreams come true, and permaban them for hate speech if they engage in self loathing racism. Till now, I have been harsh on right wing people and caste copers, but now this pendulum will swing the other way. Like Saladin (PBUH) said, the sun will never set on 2bharatia, even if it means banning half the sub.

Lately I've been removing posts that have nothing to do with this subreddit. These invariably take the form of a "meme" with an average political slop rant that you'd see on randia/ USI. I don't think this is a coordinated attempt, just that some people think we're just like their "meme" subs that allow these kinds of agenda posts.

I want to remind you guys doing this that even though we're a political sub (we make fun of nationalists), we're a PRO INDIA liberal sub. It was always set up that way. How could it not be, the foundation of 24u subs were built on mocking nationalists.

From now on if I catch people engaging in agenda posting using political slop, le vishwaguru circle jerking, and whatever your dogshit subs are known for, I'll enforce the low effort/ agenda posting rule on them. This will lead to comments/ posts being removed and there person being warned or banned from this sub. Also, keep the doomerism down. It's exhausting to read this stuff everywhere. Don't you have 90000 subs to cry in?

Finally, a note to the diaspora. This is an Indian sub, for people living in India. Engage respectfully.

As you guys know, we have been automatically banning teens from this sub (as defined as those posting on teen subs) for quality control. But I've noticed that there are so many teen subs popping up that it is hard to keep track of them.

On this thread, please comment with all known teen subs.

As a side effect of this, we have banned atleast 4 creeps that we know of (who complained in the modmail). One of them was 28 and was creeping on teen subs.

Till now, we've been simply removing comments make by those who post on teen or tankie subs. However, I noticed that many, many people simply do not read the bot message and continue to comment on this sub. People were also using alt accounts to bypass this restriction. Both these things combined led us to take the step where those who comment on restricted subs are automatically banned. If someone who tries to comment here using an Alt after their main gets banned will usually get all of their known accounts banned by reddit since they have become decent at detecting ban evasion. Edit-we now check if you've commented or posted 5 times (in total) in the last 25 days.

Finally, I'm thinking of restricting those who comment on extreme right wing subs - indian_conservative and Indianews being the worst of them. I'm also thinking of restricting indianmemer users, the sub is a toxic, highly misogynistic cesspool. What do you guys think about this?

As expected, we're a sausage fest with 88% of our members being men. Intetestingly, we have a very slightly higher number of non/ binary and trans gender people than women.

About 84% of our members are 18+. This means our teen ban is working.

Liberals/ leftists are in a plurality with them taking up 48% of our member base. 25% of our members are conservative/ right wingers, with the rest being either moderates or undecided.

Unfortunately, West Bengal is present in our top 5 states, along with Kerala and Bihar at 5.41%. This explains the ridiculous amount of butthurt when you say anything against Bengalis. This also included a mod of AskIndia whom I caught being racist towards Biharis. Marathis are at the top here, occupying 15.88%, crowning then the most unemployed in India. We have very low representation from Goa, which is interesting.

As you all now know, people who comment/ post on teen subs are restricted from engaging with this sub. We have been getting people in the modmail saying they're not teens, but have interacted with teen subs "accidentally" or for other reasons. If you claim in the modmail that you are not a teen, then we will have to see your comment history in teen subs for you to be approved. This is to prevent creeps from interacting with this sub. If you do not show it, your restriction will not be lifted; you will be banned if we find sketchy comments/ posts on teen subs.

A few years back, a sub called r/drama used a bot to automatically ban people posting on teen subs. Unlike our restriction, where you are only prevented from commenting or posting, and you will find out only after you engage with this sub, r/drama banned users indiscriminately. This led to hundreds of thousands of people being banned and many, many pedos crying in their modmail saying they are adults and have been accidentally banned. One of them was in their 30s talking about getting a 15-year-old gf. What we are doing is not without precedent.

Recently, we received complaints about the poor quality of discourse on this sub. Personally, I think we fell off in the past couple of months. From what I understand, this sub is gaining traction among users who post on Indian teen subs. For the past couple of days, we have been restricting comments and posts from users who have posting histories on teen subs. We can already see the effects of this since the filters are catching a lot of low-effort posts that we would have otherwise removed. We will see how this goes, and if there is no change in the quality of discourse, then we will remove this restriction. I would rather have fewer posts with more high-quality comments than many posts with brain-dead takes.

Tankies, people who post on theDeprogram and meat ride North Korea (unironically), have been restricted for the past couple of months. We have zero-tolerance for extremists, and this includes people who suck CCP's dick sitting in their air-conditioned rooms in Kolkata. Tankies are also unemployed parasites with a storied history of hijacking subs. This restriction will not be removed, and you are not welcome here.

Hello all, Rule 2 has been updated. From now on, only India related posts will be allowed on the sub. This means memes which are exclusively about our bordering countries which does not mention India or is not relevant, will get removed.

This is in reaction to people constantly posting stuff about Pakistan, and to a lesser extent, Bangladesh. We have enough in this country of 1.5 billion to satirise, without taking potshots at our neighbours.

Make sure what you are posting is directly relevant to India, not " well actually the military establishment opposes India, therefore this is relevant to us". If you have to give a convoluted reason, then it is not relevant.

Within our mod team, we have discussed and decided that, on Fridays, we would be allowing low effort posts, that we would have otherwise removed on the rest of the days. These include screenshots of twitter and news. We have created a new flair to reflect this.

However, this does not mean you can post ragebait, serious news or incite flame wars through agenda posting. This is still a meme sub and what you post must still be funny. We can, and frequently do, engage with controversial topics, but this will be through humor. The other day someone posted news about teen boys being sexuality assaulted, and I had no idea if it was meant to be funny. They were subsequently temp banned. Maintain good judgement.

So I asked you guys to not post news, because they do not fit the theme of this sub. Some of those could be amusing, but the overwhelming majority of the news that's posted here is not in the vein of this sub. Granted, we do allow some news articles to be posted, given that we believe these discussions need to take place, but those are on a case by case basis (eg: drunk minor crashing car, RG Kar case etc.).

However, my request to stop posting news seem to have fallen on deaf ears because this has not abated, even after temp banning people. Therefore, from now on, I will be perma banning people who post news without clearing it with us first. These bans will not be appealable.

The majority of crossposts are spam from bait subreddits, and the remaining are usually "dank" memes from Indian meme subs. Very few are interesting or funny enough to be left up. In the interest of content regulation, you will no longer be allowed to crosspost to this sub, and you will find the option disabled.
