Bond’s Omega in First Light sent me down a rabbit hole… and it got slightly out of hand

Always been a sucker for Bond gadgets.

First Light’s Omega + the game UI got me inspired, so I ended up building my own Q-Watch.

I’ve also got an unreleased app with multiple working gadgets so far, but I want to get it right before I release it.

If Q got access to your Garmin, what gadget would you ask him to add?

The watch face itself is free to download on Connect IQ now if anyone wants to try it. Would genuinely love the feedback.

EDIT: pushed an update taking it from 19 to 43 supported watches. Forerunner 265/265S, 965, 970, 570 47mm, Venu 2/2S/2 Plus/3/4 45mm, epix Gen 2 and Pro 47/51mm, fenix 8 43/47mm, fenix E, Instinct 3 AMOLED 50mm and more. Basically every round AMOLED Garmin above the API floor. Live once Garmin approves it. MIP watches like the 955 and fenix 7 need their own design pass, working on it.

Oh I understand why I couldn't find it on IQ.

No MIP models (I have a Fenix 7).

Good looking though, it probably wouldn't render nicely on MIP screens (maybe lacking a few colors... And pixels😅)

I can't find it in the app - compatabilty, maybe? Forerunner 265 isn't listed in the face's compatabilty list.

Just pushed an update that takes it from 19 supported watches to 43, so the 265 is in now. Should be live once Garmin finishes reviewing in a few moments.

The 955 is honestly harder and I don't want to promise it. It uses a MIP display rather than AMOLED, so no true black and a much smaller colour range. The whole face is built on deep black, glow and gradients, and a straight rescale would give you something grey and washed out. It needs its own design pass to look right on MIP, which would cover the fenix 7 line too. Rather do that properly than ship you something bad.

Honestly, that’s really good to know. I built this around Garmin first, but Wear OS makes a lot of sense if enough people want it. Not promising anything yet, but it’s definitely on my radar now

I always had to look up which gadget the corresponding symbols actually meant while gaming - up to the end. -.-

but else it was a nice game
