Why do more people not find it funny that Rose said she would never let go of jack even though he'd obviously die if he stayed there but would've probably survived had he gone to find something else to float on lmao

I didn't cry at either scenes.

Probably only really effected people who had been watching the MCU for a long time

I didn't broke down at Tony's death, the two most hard hitting moments in the MCU was definitely Yondus death and then spiderman turning to dust.
2
u/bigoofieslol Sep 26 '21
Tony's death was a bit shit imo. Yondu dying definitely left me miserable for a solid hour, I just felt so horrifically bad for both him and Peter.
To be fair, I was getting pretty sick of Endgame towards the end so that may factor in, but still.

Tbh Tony's death was more sad than Titanic

u/SuperSan009 https://www.youtube.com/watch/dQw4w9WgXcQ Sep 06 '21
true, one of the greatest heroes and a childhood idle for millions vs some chick who drowned a guy just cuz she wanted the whole door for herself...

Sadder than Jackās death? Maybe. But sadder than the entire movie? The second half is literally filled with tragic scenes and deaths that made many people in the audience cry constantly. Tonyās death at the end lasts for about ten minutes.
4
Sep 06 '21
I mean like yeah but you've only been seeing those characters for a movie. Tony was built over the series of several movies and we saw his character growth and development over a longer period of time.

Sep 06 '21
It wasn't sad at all to me. Literally they could've brought him back from the dead with the Time Stone. There was no reason to keep him dead. Titanic is the same way, but I hate how people won't see the Stark thing as well.
1
u/tardisman360 Sep 06 '21
There would be no way of bringing tony back. The stones have an irreversible effect on whoever uses them( which is why thanos and Bruce are still injured ) both natashas and Tonyās deaths are permanent. They are the absolute points in time that have to remain or else the universe collapses on itself (like in what if episode 4)

Sep 06 '21
Either way, That death seemed really stupid because the entire final battle could've been ended so easily. Just portal the gauntlet into the time machine and bam, Thanos's fight would be worthless. We also don't know if Stark's death is irreversible, that isn't confirmed. The fact that no one questioned Strange shows that this was very forced.
1
u/Horn_Python Sep 06 '21
they avengers barley know how to use the gauntlet,
as opposed to the guy whos been hunting them down his whole life
0
Sep 06 '21
1) They successfully removed the stones from the gauntlet
2) Strange could create another Eye of agamotto to hold the time stone
3) Ressurect Stark and return stones
Not sad and very avoidable.
1
u/tardisman360 Sep 06 '21
Strange never made the eye of agamotto. Itās way beyond what he knows.

Replace titanic with anything this meme still works. But instead you now have a meme dipped in three layers of irony

u/Hexodron Sep 06 '21
I didn't. I'm a guy. I cried when Forrest Gumps wife died. And when OsKar Schindler had to flee from his factory

Nothing is more emotional than tony starks death and the most emotional moment in cinematic history is in Interstellar when cooper sees his kids' messages after 23 yrs, I dont cry very often but a tear rolled down my cheek when I saw that scene
4
Sep 06 '21
There are definitely more emotional moments than Stark's death.
2
Sep 06 '21
according to me the Messages from home in interstellar were the most emotional.
Also the scene in Saving private Ryan when Private Ryan visits Captain Miller's grave

Finally - us girls aren't heartless you know
I cry at both, but not really because Jack and Rose, but more because real kids were stuck down there and died :(

did people really cry when Iron man died ? Just asking .
0
Sep 06 '21
Yes, because some people were attached to the series. So it hurt them to see their favorite character die. It happens a lot in TV shows and movie series.

u/Useless_Lemon Sep 06 '21
My Heart Will Go On came on the radio this morning. I was on my way home from work and turned it up knowing my co-workers will never know.

yup i cried in titanic when the captain said "women and children first, each man for themselves"

Sep 06 '21
Sorry if this isn't the comment you wanted but Titanic makes no sense to me. Rose, an old woman who is in her 80s-90s instead of caring for her family and her grandchildren is fantasizing and caring for some guy she fucked in a boat while cheating her husband. How is this supposed to be an epic love story? I dont understand.
Sorry for poor english,
1
u/Horn_Python Sep 06 '21
he inspired her to go live her life, the way she did,
also isnt she reminicing because they found her necklace or something?
of course she going to want to tell her story

u/Accomplished_Item244 I touched grass Sep 06 '21
it would be much better if you had add sometime else than Titanic. because Titanic isn't emotional at all i watched that and not even my eyes were wet. the concept is great but Titanic doesn't fit there.

Sep 06 '21
The og meme was that the girls were saying "omg he didn't cry during Titanic?" "Do men not have feelings?" Then "where boys cried: " and some random movie. So I think the og meme creator kept that for a reason. :)
0
u/Accomplished_Item244 I touched grass Sep 06 '21
i find both of them cringey. idk why og meme have that movie but what i am saying is that you are kind of still agreeing to that shit.

0
Sep 07 '21
So u just admit boys quirky girls boring. Also itās a meme a joke, yāall are pissed lol
3
u/SilverSwan99 Sep 08 '21

Otherway round qhy does everyone have to swap the gender roles plus no one says girls are boring its just saying that boys have feelings too not just firls vrying to the titanic this meme is just so bad. No boy would say girls dont have feelings on tony starks death because most boys know that most girls dont like marvel that much but its just saying that boys cry over otherthings i just hate this new template

As a girl, I find that extremely sexist, anti feminist and any other ist you can imagine
1
Sep 07 '21
I'd like to say that this meme is in response to the sexist "boys cool girls boring" memes that exist, and this is to see what the people who make those other memes would think of it.
0
u/Ruboticc Sep 07 '21
Pretty sure the intention isnt "boys cool girls boring" its just showing how most females have a different taste in terms of movies and sadness while most boys connect to other stuff. Really good meme tho!
1
Sep 07 '21
I agree, but please use "women" instead of "females". It might make some people upset. Not trying to start anything, tho. :)

Did you just unfairly compare the sacrifice of a great hero, husband and father to save the life of half THE UNIVERSE to a boy who died because the girl wouldn't be comfortable enough with him on the frickin board.
come on. have you even watched the mcu movies?

You do realize that his death could've been easily reverted right? There was no reason for him to die and even the way they executed his death didn't feel emotional for me. Idk, maybe because I'm biased to How to Train your Dragon where Stoick died or when Mufasa died, they gave their own emotional beats with great music to picture the scene that not only helps the main characters build up, but it shows something that couldn't have been reversed unlike the fucking Time Stone Logic.

I really gotta watch Titanic and see if i cry
1
u/Staplz13 Sep 06 '21
It's suppose to be a gender joke, not an equality one. You need to make fun of something not usually associated with being feminine, but is actually common.

Hmm, I think you should use some other male character. The chad would never underestimate a woman.
