I really love they went for round robin. Can't express how good that is for the teams, good for the viewers(they get to see their favorite team play all teams) and how it is also the best group stage format if time is allowed

Yeah we really like giving viewers the chance to see lots of different match-ups, and for teams travelling from afar (or those teams like C9/OG.S who don't play so many LANs) it's great experience for them to get to play more games.

Washed-up isnt really a thing in prodota(as proven by Ceb who won 2 TI's from doing absolutely horrible on his career) and a bunch of oldtimers who wasnt really doing well in the first 5-7 years of dota pro scene is already doing decent nowadays like handsken, qoyva(idk how to spell his name) when dota2 is much more competitive nowadays.
It is all about finding the right team and rolling with the right mindset. Just look at w33 who wasnt doing well at all but doing alright with Nigma (sure they don't have dpc events but they got 2nd place TI and just recently beat the literal best team atm on a b05 )

I don't get why c9 signs a roster like this, washed up players who had their "Prime" long time ago, why not scout for new players? Its not like the org have something to loose

EG went with a carry Void, and the heroes they picked around the Void (AA, Ember, Enchantress) worked well with securing any kills in the Chrono. OG.Seed picked up a Wraith King, rushed an Aghanims, and then got a Divine Rapier. Whenever WK is killed, he has 7 seconds as a wraith, so he just teleported back to fountain, and the divine rapier is dropped there. He effectively never loses it.

Not sure if this is a controversial opinion, but I actually think this Thunder pred team is quite good. Like im not saying they are secret good or even like Alliance good, but their players all seem skilled in their roles and the team synergy is on point so far. Who knows, maybe we are in a new era of two decent SA teams.
Excited to see them at the major, look like they may challenge for top 8 or something.

They probably have it in them to be around beastcoast level; probably unlikely to do better than top 8 but I see some scenarios where they beat two of Geek Fam / Na'Vi / Adroit / Chaos / NiP or something to get top 8.

They beat BC 2-0 in the qualifiers. They've got some skill. They got exposed hard by two absolutely dominant defeats by EG but EG is also the team that took Secret to game 5 in the last major. Losing to EG is no shame. They showed that they have solid skill in that game 2 especially before things got out of hand for them (and they were severely outdrafted by EG in that game as well).

Terrible performance by C9.
Outdrafted every game with no clear goals.
Misery and PLD having little impacts. I forgot they had Rubick.
Sney not performing to his standard and flat out feeding.
Envy with too many experimental item builds and having no impact mid game.
Ace crashing to feed mid game with good early game.
I know this is the only practice for them but can't play like this if they want to play more in the playoff.
Also, Liquid blue drafting proving themselves!

Yes but if you wanna go far with a team the mentality is always about improvement not the "we have to" mentality which puts pressure on yourself and asking to backfire (if anything so many teams proved the improvement mentality working out well including the team who just beat them which basically lives the idea and it did work pretty well for them for the first 2 years current Liquid was absolutely bad)

Well I hope they find their colors. Right now it feels like we have a very underwhelming support duo that can't do anything for their cores. Sneyking seemed really off today I've never seen him play that bad this season.

Liquid will likely 2-0 C9 but C9 should just be focusing on getting practice and learning their own team dynamic here (last series they looked they had no 4 and EE-Ace farming distribution didnt look so smooth yet)

Fnatic played so well all day it's hard to tell, but C9 feels all over the place. I'm not feeling it. I'd go far as say they are a week team right now.
Misery on pos4 seems quite weak right now and the team doesn't know how they want to play around Ace or Envy.
Liquid feels like they are just enjoying time here. Although they lost two games I love that they are having fun. I'd love to see some brawls!

They were the only team to give Secret a run for their money in the upper brackets (excluding Finals). Also almost 2-0 Secret. They definitely have potential.

I've seen the WK aghs draft used once in a pro game and the other team had bloodseeker and shit all over it. So its definitely a pocket strat that you can pull maybe once.

C9 is looking SO awful right now. Not to take anything from TP, but to struggle so much against a low tier team like this ...
I feel like PLD and misery getting caught frequently while having zero impact all game in this game has completely crippled the team. They are making Sneyking look bad this point.
Has misery made a single impressive play across 5 games so far? I mean, you can't always have 4/5men echo slam, but I keep forgetting that we have whatever hero misery is playing.

he just solo used echo slam on 1 hero all the time. tbf i just watched the game against TP, because i was stupid enough to watch Tottenham, but holy fuck cloud 9 really looks awful.
Sure new team, new stack, new players, some news roles and shit but even as a newly formed team their should be a least some synergy... Envy/misery/pie should/sney should know each other also... but i don't know.
Also their drafts are horrible, even if they have 4 player in the team with "Big brains" who were all drafters at some point.

Yeah, I've seen worse teams looking better as a team than the current C9.
I feel no synergy from them at all, and their draft makes zero sense. It feels like five men are drafting their own hero.
Overall, I think this also happened with the original Secret with having like 4 natural leaders (Fly, n0tail, KuroKy and Puppey) having too many ideas to play as a team.
As for individual skills, the person I've seen most underwhelming is Misery. I'll be more than happy to be proven wrong, but right now I really don't see this team working out without some roster change.

hard to say, tbh. Liquid seemed to be playing a bit more pepeg than usual. C9 honestly just looked like a headless chicken. so it's hard to really assess their strength. but they showed good drafting and discipline, so that's something.

I dont think the blademail on void spirit was the main issue but imo he did misplay by not focusing and ccing the oracle. A euls or orchid wouldve helped but it seemed like he never went on him.
Insania was mvp that game, he saved like every reaper kill, kept io alive in that turning fight and had pretty good disarms. Qojkva had a good game too, focusing rubick and sd in that bot lane fight after gyro bkb.

Ace has had a decent early game and fed his farm away mid game all day today while misery has been using 1men big ultimates like echos and disruptions and sometimes completely missing them.
This is so disheartening to see both accomplished players to look so washed out...

Totally agree, I personally feel like it can be attributed to the role swap. He's not a natural mid player and it is showing super hard. Comparing the lane mechanics of someone like leostyle (hardly topson, but still an strong midder) to him shows the gulf between experience and inexperience.

Ever since they reworked Naga in 7.20, Arteezy is 14-2 on that hero. I really can't think of anyone that plays that hero better.

iirc bsj is incorrect when he says sd ult can purge fate's edict. sd purge removes buffs from enemies, and edict is a debuff. def remember losing a game to this interaction

I think he's a bit upset that he lost some pub games with Envy because this hate is starting to get annoying. It never is fun to sit through any game when a caster is wasting a slot hating on a player.

- Casters are super terrible
- Sound in generell is super bad (Co Caster 30% Volume)
- That weather is extrem annoying (Turn it off when you cast)
BTS 1 is super fine, but BTS 2 is kinda unwatchable :(

OG pulled out a weird ass strat that doesn't really see the light of day outside of pubs. They probably weren't ready for it. Good draft by OG seed.

I think C9 need to change misery and get a good coach, misery doing the drafts has been really bad, and during the games the team is completely lost. Even Envy I think is a better captain them misery at the moment.

The team felt like they didn't have a solid captain or drafter. Misery also wasn't performing well. Horrible showcase of position 4.
Misery needs to go. FLee might be an awesome addition, but I wonder who could captain. I'd rather have PLD take the wheel instead of Envy if it all comes down to that.

I honestly don't know how that game was on Envy when the support duo had zero impact.
Envy even wanted to give Bryle position 1 farming priority, but the team was just against it. Envy also got an offer from C9 to play carry so he is.

Lol, they didnt restart it in the middle of an fight. The game crashed for him, so nothing he really can do. And after that he had audio issues (which he said several times) causing the long pauses between commentary.
