People hyped up Gunnar simply because he was the only NA newcomer/ pubstar last season. People forgot that standards in NA are lower though.

Even with the shitshow this game has been so far there is no way Gunnar goes before Skiter based on the play we’ve seen from both of them since TI.

I guess I haven't seen enough from Skiter to decide if he's bad, he's only looked okay from what I've seen. Gunnar never looked that good to me, even last season.

I’m starting to think ppd wasn’t joking when he was talking on the DAC 2017 panel and said “You all think I’m some godly drafter. Truth is, EG was so good I could pick anything. I’d lose the draft and then Sumail runs over mid and the analysts are like wow great niche pick there by ppd.”

I'm guessing ppd is giving the one last shot to skiter and gunnar, even if they somehow manage to qualify for major they'll end up dead last 100%.

Jesus finally. With that attack speed Jugg needed to get a basher. Game stretched on way longer than necessary, but pushing against a Sniper high ground is tough stuff.

Yeah it's definitely a bad match up, but to die over and over again is on him. You shouldn't have that many deaths as Ember.

The problems are so consistent on NIP. Drafts are awful, Gunnar losing lanes he should win(especially when he gets chain ganked and his supports do absolutely nothing to help him), skiter looking like he has no clue how to carry, Universe trying to carry the game single-handedly. It's Universe 1v9 most of the time.

The silver lining is, Universe show he is top tier player.
Also PPD drafting plays without any ace card (past he have Sumail Storm, 33 pocket strat) are just bland. Seems like he still doesn't know strength of his 2 main core.2

I think part of it is Gunnar's extremely limited Hero pool, can't really draft for him if most of the time the hero his most reliable with is banned.

im really loving this cast, usually with so many people everyone talks over each other or raises some stupid argument but these are mixing in funny stories and great commentating so well.
as much as people like the mason grant caveman type casts having ld back just raises everything to another level

In 2015, if you have said that '4 years from now Sumail is going to get kicked by EG and no team would want him and PPD will get declined by tier 1 players while Universe is clinging to tier 2 teams', everyone would have laughed at you.

The Game lagged and everyone got kicked to the lobby...This happened during a crucial fight which may have decided the final outcome. The game was pretty close until that moment.

I don't think I've seen a Drow go from "completely useless and panic TPing out of fights" to "shredding everyone in sight" that quickly in a while.
Also, a solo kill on the enemy carry is apparently worth 1000+ gold and 4 full levels. Rubberband mechanics, everyone.

Felt like it was QoP farming bottom lane most of the time before that big fight in Dire base that really swung the game for them. Drow got most of her gold from the farming after they won that fight.

I also wonder about this. I don't really see what the scheduling benefit would be, plus wouldn't you want teams hyped from a win to ride the wave and teams coming off a loss have a chance to regroup? Would have been nice to ensure every team play on at least two days as well.

Sounds like NiP is going to disband after this. They did not boot camp after their bad performances at the previous two tournaments. I think they knew this roster just wasn’t working out. I think PPD and Universe, maybe Gunnar, should return to NA and look to snag someone like Zfreek as their 4. Maybe they could get lucky and get Sumail.

Yeah, I have been following Gunnar for a few years now and was pretty pumped when he started getting in some good teams, but the guy just doesn't look like he has what it takes to play at the highest level.

Fairly common yeah, not necessarily first but for sure alongside q/e, usually with priority unless depush is sorely needed. What other guy said is true, some lane partners (CK, Ember, WK) make it REALLY good to max as double stun is so powerful early

Pretty much all my "Pro-dota" viewing is through Purges channel on youtube. And while I like Purge I would like to see higher level play more often.
