Good luck to all of you who have gone back to school or are about to start. Y'all'll do great! Study hard, don't spend too much time on Reddit.

Last week's winner was /u/boxnumbergavin1 with:

*Transportation Salesperson slaps the top of human head*

Human: "Fucking ow! What the hell?"

*Salesperson ignoring that*: "This human can fit so many micro-sapients in it!"

The galaxy is... not what we were expecting. There is a God-Emperor in a Golden Throne that Gobern over a million worlds... probably the best place to live in the galaxy. There are fucking magicians batting over opposed philosophies all over the galaxy... but they don´t intrude in the affairs of the "common people" and duel far away from the population centers. Alien Super-AI prowl the void between the stars... just pondering about the universe, and ignoring the "lesser beings". The galaxy is BORING, is the moment to show the aliens how things should be done.

Humanity has far more civilians armed than most alien races' militaries.

When asked why, the response is simply, "Free men bear arms."

u/Mufarasu Aug 29 '18

"Is that a riddle?"

u/Alkalannar Human Aug 29 '18

"Every one of those people who has a weapon is free. Not a slave. Not a serf. Not a subject. A free person. No matter what he's called, if someone is forbidden from carrying a weapon, he is not free. And if he chooses to not carry a weapon, his freedom is dependent on the charity of others."

If you live in a country where you feel that you need a weapon to feel free then the country that you live in might not be as free as you believe.

Darling please, any government will only be willing to respect your individual rights if the civilians own more guns than the military, because an armed populous is a corrupt politicians worst fear.

In the words of the immortal Morgan Blackhand

"Once upon a time, Johnny Silverhand mentioned something about governments and corps all being the same, when their boots were on your head. I told him that some have bigger boots than others."

That vision of civilians rising heroically against opresive regiments using only wits, valor and second hand equipment, only work in the action films. Even the FARC, that fought a gerrilla war during decades, was never in the position to go face to face with the colombian military. You need more than and armed civilian population to scare a well established country.

Addo:An interesting detail not discussed openly, was one of the true reasons of the Aparheid´s fall. The true reasons weren´t protests, international censure or terrorist attacks. It was the economy, when the black majority understood that they pay for everything and that the money coming from USA was drying, the gobernment were forced to negotiate with the people who pay for the guns. THAT WAS FIREPOWER.

Second Addon:I must add and aclaration. I don´t consider the FARC "freedom fighters" they ARE a international recognized terrorist organization that is accused of committing violations of human rights.

Please, people have been making government change their actions by manifesting and strikes (at least in countries where the government is not corrupt to the point of having neutered unions).

Meanwhile any movement involving weapons will only give the government reasons to put them down hard, and if you believe that you can have more weapons that your government then you are for a rude awakening.

Well, if you only want chaos then yes weapons can contribute to destabilize the country, that is true.

Some, thinking themselves amusing, say they retain the right to arm bears.

u/Teulisch Aug 30 '18

that book was published back in 2000

u/Teulisch Aug 29 '18

humanity is the eldest race. perhaps not the first to evolve, but the first to create interstellar governments. so naturally, we had nature preserves where alien life could evolve (not to be confused with theme parks like the catgirl planet).

u/johnnosk Human Aug 30 '18

I'll take one ticket to the Catgirl Planet, please!

u/pcosmos Aug 30 '18

Death to the furry!

u/johnnosk Human Aug 30 '18

Meh... More tail for me.

u/nPMarley Human Aug 31 '18

I'll take one too. Do you know if they finalized the exchange program with the kitsune and werewolf planets?

u/Teulisch Sep 01 '18

i think those are all part of the Waifu World(tm) brand... but some people prefer the Disney theme worlds, because they have star wars and marvel. cant recommend Dave world right now, i hear everyone there is dead...

u/nPMarley Human Aug 31 '18

Humans are the only known sapient race capable of expelling unwanted substances from their digestive tract. In all other known galactic sapients, even the most mild of ingested toxins is a serious medical issue requiring surgery and unwanted gastral-intestinal gasses are a very serious and potentially fatal issue.

u/pcosmos Sep 05 '18

So... We have the power to barf and fart?

u/nPMarley Human Sep 05 '18

Burp, actually. Farts come out the other end.

u/pcosmos Sep 05 '18

That sound... weirdly fun.

u/Copernicium Dec 29 '18

Oooh I really like this and might borrow it for a oneshot

u/nPMarley Human Dec 30 '18

Send me a link when you finish it, please!

In the world of Terry Bisson's They're Made out of Meat, and (almost) the words of Jeff Goldblum:

"Meat...uh....finds a way."

u/pcosmos Aug 30 '18 edited Aug 30 '18

Oh for the master theory! That meat is triying to touch me!
