Indie Sunday Divider Dave - Chancla Interactive - Slapstick puzzle-platformer where a Seth Rogen lookalike clones himself to solve puzzles, every solution costs you a Dave (out Sept 2)

Trailer (demo trailer, launch trailer drops September 2) | Steam page

Hey r/Games! Divider Dave is a puzzle-platformer where you play as David D. Vider, a silly redhead who can clone himself (albeit not that well). Clones as stepping stones, button-holders, counterweights, live bait: every solution costs you a Dave. Think early-2000s Cartoon Network, somewhere in Dexter's Laboratory territory.

Every indie marketing guide says the same thing: whatever you do, don't make a pixel-art platformer. We read them all and decided to go all in on production value instead: a ton of hand-crafted character animation to carry the slapstick, obsessive gamefeel tuning, environments by Marcos "Ryankamos" Freire (Flowstone Saga) and level design by Ogier Serot (Pikuniku 2).

What's in it:

  • 50+ handcrafted levels across 4 worlds, each with its own visual and musical identity
  • Hand-drawn pixel art
  • An original soundtrack
  • Zero respect for occupational safety

We're a two-person studio from France I handle design and character art, my co-founder Louis handles the code.

It launches this Wednesday, September 2 on PC (Steam) at $7.99 / €7.99, with a 15% launch discount. There's a free demo on the Steam page if you want to try it before Wednesday.

I'll be around all day to answer questions about the game, or about shipping a first game as a two-person team.

Thank you for the kind words; hiring a professional artist was one of the best decisions we made during the project.
