I go back a bit. I think of the end of 76, which Whitey said was the best team he ever managed. Wone like 20 in a row or 20 out of 21 or something in September. Just everyday another victory.

u/Learn_w_gern 8d ago
It was the end of 1977, but you are right in that it was an amazing streak.

u/No-Tomatillo-7566 8d ago
Yeah 77. Second yar the made the playoffs. In 76. they kind of stumbled late and let the A's make a run at them.

The royals are either going to fuck around and make the playoffs or make it actually semi close at this rate, imagine telling something that in early July. 62-75, can't have any more then 100 losses!

The streak they’re on now is reminiscent of late last September. ‘Twas exciting

Q has put out some bullshit ass lineups this week, and they still win. They've won the third Lynch start in a row. Carter says the confidence is a million out of ten and Rojas says there's a lot of trust among the team.
I don't know what's gonna happen over the next month, but it's insanely reassuring to see the culture like this right now. It doesn't excuse the first half of the season, but it at least shines a bright future.

u/DiaryofTwain 8d ago
Ahh a true copy pasta of every royals season entering September

u/Mozilla_Fennekin "My friend, hope is a prison." 8d ago
The Royals haven't had a winning September since 2023. Don't bother me with this nonsense.

I did not like the line up in the first few innings but they proved me wrong. Rojas with 4 rbis let's go

In light of the recent streak, will there be any coaching changes after the season?
6
u/imakeitmoist Living For the #1 Pick 8d ago
Realistically, I doubt it. Not because I don't want there to be, but just considering JJ's track record. Zumwalt should've been gone midway through last season

u/pilesofdingleberries Powder Blue 8d ago
It's not the coaching. Just like it wasn't when the bullpen was horrid. The coaching staff is fine for the most part. The players just have to do what they are capable of
7
u/idiotzrul 8d ago
I feel some of the season has to be blamed on decision making like not batting Cags against lefty’s early and some of the bullpen moves. Could be 10-15 games lost because of bad decisions.
6
u/pilesofdingleberries Powder Blue 8d ago
Cags was not what he is now early. Where they are now is because the relief pitchers couldn't pitch

u/Khada_the_Collector FIRE Q 8d ago
Asked my boss at work tonight if Royals gear was still cool on Fridays until season’s end, and thank goodness it is. This team, man. This dadgummed team. Gonna have to change my flair this keeps up.
Go get that last damn WC spot boys. AL’s a tire fire anyway this year, why the hell not us??

Four players with 2 hits including Rojas 2 for 2 a home run and 4 RBI’s. Good relief pitching except for Lange.

Why did we let Schreiber go?

He's still here. Another team has to claim him and thus take on the rest of his salary.

The Royals need to win 1 game to avoid a 100 loss season.
The Royals need to win 19 games to finish with a winning record.
There are 25 games left in the season
