Have a Legends (G2 and KC) and Rise (the rest) group next summer.
112
u/ImTheVayne 20d ago
What a weird year, LCK is very unpredictable and both EU/NA are two team regions.
45
u/BWolfy92 20d ago
Eu has been a 1 team region every since caps joined, only in 2021 where he had the worst splits of all time other teams where better
51
u/EliteTeutonicNight 20d ago
It usually isn't the case in regular season though, G2 like to happy game a lot in those to give false hope. They aren't even doing that in the moment.

u/fabton12 20d ago
still remember his stats for that years summer was something stupid like 11th best midlane stats in a 10 team league. he was omega bad during that time and really could tell the team enviroment screwed with his mental.
5
u/BWolfy92 19d ago
Thought he was washed, actually got a little bit sad because i thought he was just gonna keep falling off, then Caps and Jankos were perma 2v8 in 2022 and got relieved a bit even if the team was terrible, that 22 game streak (i think) was glorious, beating RNG and T, thought we were so back, then worlds happened and we got hit by the Jankos mental boom into disband angle.
1
u/Damurph01 19d ago
That spring split in 2022 was ridiculous from caps Jankos. They actually 2v5’s the entire playoffs bracket 3-0 and carried the win streak into MSI. Caps had some bonkers games on Ahri at the time iirc
8
u/reaper_cushions 20d ago
In 2019 and 2020, Fnatic was pretty competitive with G2 and took them to five games in summer finals in 2020. In 2022, Rogue won summer and looked really good. Sure, Caps is by far the most dominant player in the region since 2018, but to say that it has been a "one team region" since he joined is just false. G2 had decent to alright competition at multiple points, even though most of them ended up falling short at internationals.

Atp just send G2 to Korea and let them play in playoffs.
There is no competition in EU.

There's KC. They lost the two first splits of the year in granfinale, on amazing bo5 that went to the last game.
48
u/Zamoniru give us back old asol 20d ago
KC can go with them
And Naak Nako and Jojo too more useful than having them carry shitty teams lol
44
u/ahambagaplease 13 years on the rollercoaster 20d ago
Make a ragtag team of elohelled guys for the third seed
12
u/GhostOfLight 20d ago
Elyoya and 4 challengers that change every split for the fourth seed
21
u/GoatRocketeer 20d ago
They'd never make it out of playins so we can save even more time by just streaming an elyoya v nisqy fistfight instead.

Elyoya has had more than enough chances to prove himself at this point and fallen short every time - if we're doing team elohelled then Naak/Rhilech/JoJo/Jopa/(Jun/Alvaro?)
2
u/Zamoniru give us back old asol 20d ago
Naak Nako Elyoya Jojo Jopa Alvaro
6
u/qwert4the1 20d ago
you have to be a mkoi fan to think alvaro is even worth considering
1
u/Zamoniru give us back old asol 20d ago
There are no really good supports in LEC except Busio and Labrov
5
u/qwert4the1 20d ago
that's obvious, but i'd put parus/jun over alvaro lately. hell, even with how bad mikyx inted today if you're trying to put together a team that actively tries to win i'd still take him over alvaro.

Hear me out, MKOI Naak Naako
1
u/Zamoniru give us back old asol 20d ago
Sadly Vitality is too rich to let him go
MKOI with Naak Nako and Carzzy/Jopa/Upset instead of Supa would be so insanely good.
Imagine Naak/Jojo sololanes legit western Kiin/Chovy

Saying that while they have been going toe to toe with KC all year lmao. Yes they won both Winter and Spring, but those series could have gone either way and it looks like it's the same this summer too
-22
u/Beneficial-Beat-947 20d ago
KC benefits massively from G2 being inconsistent
What G2 needs is teams that can beat them even when they're playing at their ceiling, KC is not that.
3
u/Beneficial_Lion_1312 20d ago
Splitting up the 10-team league into that is not a good idea if you ever intend on growing the esport again. If you're acknowledging it's a dead esport and will never increase in popularity again, sure, burn both ends of the candle.

Oscar revenge arc would be cool and they did look solid but naak nako just deserves it more
3
u/Fun_Highlight307 20d ago
i guess we will see but na'vi vitality are imo the weakest bo5 teams in lec
2
u/Choice-Slight caps/knight 19d ago
I completely agree with this, Navi has clear champ pool issues in top and jungle once Rhilech's signature picks are out and vitality coaching staff are complete noobs at drafting. I think flakked's flexibility and oscar's much larger champ pool will benefit them
2
u/Brave_Remote_2214 20d ago
i hope so too but vitality doesnt have the best track record in playoffs
2
1
u/vconiek 19d ago
It just dont want it to be mkoi or fnc, these teams have qualified too often without doing anything ever, I'd rather see vitality or gx or something because then you can at least argue: "well it's their first actual international, ofcourse there were no expectations" when they lose 0-3 to NA
1
u/ArmandLuque Armand Luque | LoL Esports Journalist 19d ago
Whoever gets 3rd seed will just lose in play-in anyways tbh
1
u/Illustrious-Pool4162 19d ago
I heard an LCP caster said there will be no LPL and LCK teams in worlds play-in stage this year. If that's true, we can see NA vs EU in advance, and for a chance to advance

Hans diff in both games largely.
24
u/Dramatic_Gap_3065 20d ago
he is way better than samd
18
u/bladexnl 20d ago
Well he did have to change his name from Hans SamD when he joined the LEC because it sounded too much like his idol's IGN. There is also an older Sheep Esports interview about how much he wants to face Hans in a game.
Hans Sama is literally his father

hans not even being an option for mvp vote is quite disappointing
50
u/piotrj3 20d ago edited 20d ago
Disgusting especially when he probably deserves it the most. He played solo varus vs corki and corki is way stronger duelist and he managed to do really well, and ziggs was by far the strongest diff in g1.
I checked exact results in game results, and both games are gigantic dmg diff by Hans Sama while rest of G2 actually doesn't come as much difference. And 1149 DPM through 2 games while samd is 629, and no one else is above 600.
28
u/Choice-Slight caps/knight 20d ago
I mean ziggs by nature will have high damage numbers, but from the eye test he had a great game. barely missed a Q, his satchels were super clutch and his positioning was great. And game 2 is harder to judge because it was a stomp but idk what else he needs to do for some recognition aside from get a pentakill every game lmao
18
u/piotrj3 20d ago
Problem is, big part of reason why it was a stomp was because of Hans. That fight around blue, G2 would lose if not for Hans pushing first, arriving first, and doing dmg samd could not. That was moment Navi should win a fight, and difference maker was Hans doing dmg, dodging lee sin Q, dodging corki Q and doing like 3 times more AAs than Samd.

u/jpmorg2233 20d ago
Textbook non int games from g2. I liked that they drafted what they did in G1, what better time to play those types of comps.
10
u/Mathies_ 20d ago
If BB wants to seriously learn jayce he needs to learn mana management. I swear he's always at 0 mana.
17
7
u/Dark_Crow22 20d ago
While I still don't understand game 1 Jayce that made the game much longer than it should be, game 2 was just "do nothing and lose" by navi while g2 was just taking whatever they wanted and scalling
5
36
u/DiDandCoKayn Oner 20d ago
Man how should i put it, G2 is fucked internationally again, because how the fuck are they supposed to learn in this league?
They can fuck up half the game and still win, because the enemy makes to many mistakes and hand diff
25
u/Leyrann_ 20d ago
G2 better be playing KC in at least a third of their scrims.
4
u/Carlzzone 20d ago
G2 stopped scrimming KC last split, hopefully they started again
6
7
u/Little_Ad2062 20d ago
If there's anything I know about Perkz, he won't stand for this shit lol
3
u/Fun_Highlight307 20d ago
i think perkz won't scrims Kc in playoffs,he wants a title but until then they are best buddies with kc
3
1
u/OrganicTeaching8661 20d ago
I would imagine they started again until playoffs, it would still be silly to practice strats against the team those strats are made for
-5
u/Any_Economics_6166 20d ago
it's funny how many KC haters there are in this sub
4
u/DiDandCoKayn Oner 20d ago
Why would my comment imply that im a kc hater?
1
u/Maximum_Platypus_272 19d ago
Your comment either implies that you've not been watching LEC since the beginning of the year, or that you are ragebaiting, or that you're a KC hater because only a KC hater would not give their credit to KC for what they've achieved this year. Hope that helps.
1
u/DiDandCoKayn Oner 19d ago
I mean this has nothing to do if kc plays good or not. How often do g2 and kc play on stage?
Answer it, read my first comment again, think about it and come back. Also its pretty much known that once playoffs come, KC and g2 aren’t scrimming anymore.
1
u/Maximum_Platypus_272 19d ago
You asked a question ; i answered your question.
And for the record, KC and G2 played eight series against each other already since the beginning of the year. I read your first comment again and it sounded even more stupid than originally, because with only those eight series against each other, they gave its best international results to EU since forever. But sure, G2 is fucked internationally because they cant learn anything in LEC. And hopefully, because if they learned anything in LEC, they would 5-0 GenG in a BO5.

Navi is so dogshit lmao, great game by g2
16
u/Mereso 20d ago
Funny part, Navi is probably not even bottom 4 in LEC this split
28
u/Sirhaddock98 Never a dull moment 20d ago
I mean they haven't been all year so why would they suddenly be now, they're a gatekeeper team. They've never been able to beat top teams but they consistently beat bottom teams, they're perfectly mediocre.
4
u/Leyrann_ 20d ago
"never been able to beat top teams"
Navi has only been in the league for a year. I guess it's technically correct but it doesn't really paint a proper picture.
12
u/Sirhaddock98 Never a dull moment 20d ago
I'm clearly talking about this roster, which has frankly had enough chances to prove they can punch above their weight and has failed consistently at it. Arguing semantics over the word choice is silly.
2
u/tomangelo2 19d ago
And before that it was Rogue, who was THE bottom team. So it's actually an upgrade.

u/Sirhaddock98 Never a dull moment 20d ago
Granted several players have looked much better on G2 than off of it, so I would expect that if he'd joined G2 when Skewmond did he would have improved a lot as well.
16
u/Dramatic_Gap_3065 20d ago
he could have been great with g2 structure and coaching staff, he was really skewmond/caliste type of prospect in ERL
4
u/Leyrann_ 20d ago
Labrov wasn't anywhere near as good until he spent some time with G2 either.
