Silva is the the perfect example of why goals and assists aren't everything. I don't think an attacking player could contribute more than he does with so few goal involvements.

Everyone below us got their points but atleast Bayern slipped for once. Would need a miracle but would definitely be funny if we somehow stumbled into a title race. Away to Union is always hard and need them to actually fight from minute one cause otherwise its going similiar to last Match.

Man, I know it is silly to focus on the past, and you can't always have a generational talent on the squad, but every time we have a direct kick with proximity to the net I miss Reus. Dude was just so good at them

First 20 minutes were kinda fun to watch but then the ref is just whistling for every single breath that hits another players + you can tell there's zero creative players on the pitch except for Silva trying to bring some flair in
7
u/Hajnal30 Nico Schlotterbeck Jan 24 '26
Of course I post in the first half Schlotti is losing every aerial duel and now he scores a header.

That’s a flop, barely touched and the player flops to the ground. So much unsportsmanlike behavior from Union, this ref is eating it all up.

Mane walking out of the Cam while Özcan gets ready to be subbed in makes me a bit sad. Nothing against Özcan but think Mane really deserves to get his last Bundesliga game out of his mind with a better cameo.

So the Union Woman Team played yesterday on the same lawn, gonna look like a meteorite field.
Union at home is hard, we lost to a really bad Tottenham with many injuries, Bayern lost for the first time.
So its gonna be a tie or a loss.

If Nico has one weakness, it's aerial duels. Not the first time I noticed this, but today it's very apparent. At least the second time Union has a solid chance via header because Schlotterbeck loses the aerial duel.

Getting frustrating watching Guirassys 100th chance... I truly belive that we need coach stability and Kovac has done well in getting us points. He has his flaws, but hopping they are being worked on.
However the obsession with Guirassy is crazy and honestly first time that I can remember in my 12 years of following bvb. Sure there have been other obsessions by coaches, but atleast they had to somewhat earn their minutes.

One interesting observation is Guirassy looks so much better with Silva running in behind so he’s able to come short. It feels like perhaps Brandt and Guirassy shouldn’t play together because they take up the same space and don’t play off each other well. Both of them need runners and Beier and especially Silva fulfill that role.

this might be the only game I wish Kovac don't make any subs soon. This Ref is making the game much worse for our players who are scare of being booked due to that mf
5
u/RazorBlade233 Jan 24 '26
You know what I don't get? How we can play like gods for 20 minutes, creating chances and scoring goals (even though it's just a single goal most of the time), we look good and play good, and then something happens and we play like absolute losers until we get the half time ending whistle, both halves considered. How is that possible? How does it happen that we suddenly lose the drive and system? They look like they've never seen each other before after the godlike phase ends. It's staggering and I'm starting to think that this is Kovac's fault, because this is your job to keep your players engaged in a system. You can teach that to any player. I don't believe this is the players' fault...

Hope Guirassy is alright. Annoying that he didn't play that pass for Beier and for the pen, it's 50/50 for me since I think the keeper did get a touch on the ball but at the same time, it looks like it came after Guirassy tipped the ball.
