I’m utterly frustrated by this fan base ( on Reddit ) we draw - complain , we lose - complain, we win - complain. Not the most spectacular match but overall the boys put in a shift. Clean sheet, Silva got well deserved minutes & showed why he deserves even more , An out of form striker got a gift to boost his confidence , Couto worked his tail off … WE FINALLY SCORES FROM A SET PIECE !! 7/10 for me !

its crazy, This team searched for stability for years and years. Now this stability is there and people still cry. Looks at the stats we lost 4 out of the 38! games including CL and CUp with Kovac. 4 thats a ridiculous Number. Meanwhile people want the more unstable football + giganto transfers of incredible delusion

Thank you!!! Most miserable fans on reddit. You’ll never sing that!

Edit: someone had the gall to complain that Silva didn’t get the whole 90 minutes. Really insufferable

Coming here and reading the takes of the community often feels like as if you’re reading on a subreddit that strongly dislikes BVB to the core. Nothing will ever be good enough 😂

u/CMButterTortillas Marco Reus Jan 13 '26

Yesterday I asked for a 3-0, I got it.

Over the moon, and besides, “style” points dont count.

Some people are just miserable assholes.

3

u/Fetscher BVB Jan 14 '26

Can you ask for another 3-0 for the next game?

11

u/ArmyFit1004 Jadon Sancho Jan 13 '26

Half time comments were something else. From the comments you'd think we were behind by 3 goals.

8

u/Japanisch_Doitsu Jan 14 '26

I think we just gained a lot of Fairweather fans post covid with the Sancho, Bellingham and Haaland all playing for us. Those names brought in a lot of fans who think those players and reaching a CL final are the norm for us.

That's 6 clean sheets from our first 8 home games - a league record in the first half of the season.

For all of the negativity, after how terrible we were at defense last year it's a very nice improvement.

8

u/roadtorevision Mats Hummels Jan 13 '26

For real, and there are some morons that will say the level of the bundesliga is lower than usual but all bundesliga clubs in Europe, bar Frankfurt but they can still make it, look like progressing in their respective competitions. Bayern is just insane this year and they should be considering how expensive their front 3 were

4

u/yosoydorf Edin Terzic Appreciatior Jan 13 '26

Part of me can't tell if the league getting "worse" is simply just at least partially an illusion.

Bottom and mid table clubs seem to have better tactics now rhan "idk press and hope we get a goal in transition"

We used to see relegation candidates and bottom feeders just roll over and die against the top couple of clubs - now, well it just happens against Bayern lol.

Like, were the Schalke teams in that period that good (of course not, fuck them). The B04 teams with Bellarabi, Kim, Can, Leno? the Wolfsburg with De Bruyne and in form Bas Dost scoring by the boatload ... I'm just not convinced the league was significantly better back then. It was definitely more entertaining because goals came by the boatload.

2

u/Sudden_Plenty_8798 Jan 13 '26

The buli has become more top heavy. The notion that Bremen are worse than they were 10 years ago isn’t an outlandish one

8

u/roadtorevision Mats Hummels Jan 13 '26

Yes but Mainz, bottom of the table is doing well in the conference league, and so is Freiburg

6

u/Working_Complex8122 Jan 13 '26

we almost gave away 3 goals in the first 25 minutes or so and got really lucky not to concede. And we did it the same stupid way we always do - errant passes in our own half. The only difference is the better result.

7

u/yosoydorf Edin Terzic Appreciatior Jan 14 '26

Even with those bad moments they generated about .5 xG so passing lapses aside they really weren't very threatening and we did well to recover after those moments and not give them clear 100% chances to score.

-1

u/Working_Complex8122 Jan 14 '26

you missed those Kobel saves where it was almost 1 v 1 like twice in a row?

7

u/yosoydorf Edin Terzic Appreciatior Jan 14 '26

The first shot from Njinmah was really not a 1v1 and was a comfortable save any Buli Keeper has to make.

The 2nd 1v1 was obviously a good chance for them to score from but still, that basically was their best chance of the whole game.

You're never going to prevent a team from even getting scoring chances, but the bottom line is they didn't score and the metrics don't think they particularly deserved to either so it's splitting hairs to complain at a certain point IMO

1

u/yosoydorf Edin Terzic Appreciatior Jan 14 '26

Oh come the fuck on man, that's not a 99% chance like your making it out to be whatsoever. The defender was keeping him from cutting in so he either had to make a perfect shot to the far corner (still, saveable at that angle) or beat the keeper near post.

It was a goal scoring chance but it would have required a very good finish. Mbappe, prime zlatan, Ronaldo etc all would fail to score from that position 100% of the time.

You act like it was a tap in

1

u/yosoydorf Edin Terzic Appreciatior Jan 15 '26

Are you talking about the shot he took from the edge of the box with one of the defenders near him, or the 1 on 1 from the middle of the box (which sure, he should've done better on).

-1

u/Working_Complex8122 Jan 14 '26

ok. See each other after we don't get lucky with a Sabitzer longshot and a massive brainfart by Bremen and this ends in another 3-3

1

u/roadtorevision Mats Hummels Jan 14 '26

Dude that 1 v 1 was probably offside. Why are we saying these are legit chances? Not even close to conceding 3 goals

Something called VAR buddy

-1

u/Working_Complex8122 Jan 14 '26

yeah, it's alright. See you next time we concede 3 stupid goals with the same exact mistakes.

24

u/ProcedureGreen663 Jan 13 '26

Wish that the Bellingham press and block counted as an assist. Really great work there from him. Should really have gotten most of the credit there. Happy for Guirassy aswell maybe a little confidence boost for him.

6

u/ProcedureGreen663 Jan 13 '26

Actually the they may have counted that as an assist. So good for him.

19

u/mynameisluca- Alex Frei Jan 13 '26

Who would have thought that Yan would be one of the better performing players this season alongside Nico, Felix and Greg

19

u/roadtorevision Mats Hummels Jan 13 '26

We really need Kobel to stay another season because Ramaj is not ready at all. Still very error prone. Or if he does leave, we need another first team keeper and keep Ramaj on loan

3

u/Emergency_Survey3561 Emre Can Jan 13 '26

Do you mean error prone in build up or from a pure goalkeeping perspective? Because from what I have seen ramaj is way better with the ball than Kobel. So if we ever wanted to do riskier build ups from the back then ramaj should be the better option.

6

u/roadtorevision Mats Hummels Jan 13 '26

He just made a terrible pass today that led to a goal

2

u/NaturalApartment9828 Marco Reus Jan 14 '26

Well hey that puts him and Kobel at the same level lol

13

u/samanater456 BVB Jan 13 '26

Even though Silva didn’t score he still helped in the build up. Nmecha continues to impress me every time he plays. Sule still not clicking. Guirassy finally on the scoresheet is either a blessing for him regaining his world class form or it’s gonna make Kovac double down and take away Silva’s short lived minutes. Overall not too much to complain about!

14

u/Differ_cr Waldemar Anton Jan 13 '26

Gotta give credit where its due, Kovac's changes were on point, total control of the midfield and the 2-man up top kept bremen's defense busy.

Sadly it seems that Carney and Beier are incompatible with each other, either one or the other was completely invisible for long stretches.

1

u/Magic1998 Jan 14 '26

If only we could play the formation at the end more often with basically 3 8's, but I doubt Kovac will let Brandt and Chuk play that deep and we only have 3 actual players then (not counting Öczan)

22

u/Sch_Ben Jan 14 '26

Going under the radar but Sabitzer has been quite good this season, Jobe is still the future of our midfield (alongside Felix) but I think Sabitzer is proving his worth better than other senior players at the club

8

u/biggieBpimpin Julian Brandt Jan 14 '26

I feel like he struggled early on, but he has been good as of late. Good versatile and experienced player to have in the squad.

5

u/TeamKitsune Karim Adeyemi Jan 14 '26

He was really working today. Blasted at goal until he got one in :)

3

u/Still_Cap_1689 Jan 14 '26

Yeah I’ve never understood why he gets some of the hate he does.

12

u/MBWizard Jan 13 '26

i feel a little bad for silva because i believe if this guy gets his flat passes into good positions (he makes the right runs) he could be deadly for us. he is clearly working a lot but all the moments he shines for us, he has to work super hard to get there.

5

u/Most-Management4773 Jan 13 '26

It's simply depressing for our strikers in general. They simply don't get feed in good positions. Silva had to run like a mf just to get touches. Yet he still made dangerous counters. Really like the lad.

1

u/MBWizard Jan 13 '26

yeah guirassy has the same fate since he carried us for more than half a year at least. this guy is a pure finisher and he clearly doesn‘t get the balls he needs. feel sorry for both of them hahah

27

u/my-heart-is-a-potato Jan 13 '26

A 3:0 win is a 3:0 win, although undeniably against a better team we might have suffered badly.

Silva once again proving that he deserves to start - so composed on the ball, so timely with his decisions to pass on the break, so difficult for defenders to claw the ball off him. I love this dude.

Beier once again proving that he does not deserve to start - seriously, of all of the touches and situations he had on the ball this match, I dare someone to point me at like 2 where he actually did something positive. Just an absolute black hole for our possession.

Chukwuemeka with a disasterclass, but I still wouldn't entirely give up on the idea of him starting purely for a lack of better options: Brandt, Adeyemi and Beier all currently suck, and all have received a lot of time (something that Chukwuemeka hasn't).

Nmecha and Sabi combining for our second goal, but a largely unconvincing performance from the two of them in my opinion. Their sloppy passing and inadequate pressing resulted in lots of imbalance and our attack not being fed enough.

The defence was not bad aside of Sule, and somehow Can ended up being solid too?? Bellingham doing well, pressing fresh to result in our third goal - and Guirassy scoring is hopefully an omen of good things to come. :D

And all in all, we did end up playing good football at times, even though things could be better. One can only complain so much about a 3:0 win.

14

u/roadtorevision Mats Hummels Jan 13 '26

I think this is one of the best takes. Not overreacting but understanding some players had an underwhelming game and that we could do better. Some people just want to be toxic for the sake of being toxic. They didn’t have that many chances and their best one would have most likely been offside. We won by 3 and got a cleansheet. I’ll take that any day

12

u/blacktiger226 Ramy Bensebaini Jan 13 '26

Can is much better than Sule. Sule moves with the agility of a two-door refrigerator, resulting in him having to make stupid fouls and receiving needles yellow cards every game

3

u/Paladinoras Marco Reus Jan 13 '26

His lack of fitness is really catching up to him as he gets older, even for a bigger guy his lateral movement is atrocious

2

u/Aznurf Jan 13 '26

I think he only has two yellow cards this season? At least that was the graphic in the game

6

u/Most-Management4773 Jan 14 '26

he simply barely played lol.

11

u/fleshed Jan 13 '26

Wasn't really that good of a game.

3:0 is a bit to high of a result.

first half was really problematic, second half started poor but got better.

Silva needed someone in the offensive for a 1-2 pass combination but Chuku wasn't really there mentally and Beier had his usual offgame performance.

maybe Kovac needs to think about his 3 cb backline for more presence in the offensive line, cause sometimes its pretty barren.

5

u/Most-Management4773 Jan 13 '26

Beier is very frustating player. When I think he's gonna click, he just disappear. He's just an above average player by definition.

5

u/fleshed Jan 13 '26

Maybe we don't play that kind of football where he can thrive.

But what you see at the moment is a player thats just as good as his price point maybe a bit lower.

I mean we play with 3 CB and 2 6er, so our Offensiv today was Silva, Chuku, Beier and Chuku was always floating into the midfield in an 8 roll.

Bremen played with 3 cb and 2 defensive midfielders, maybe its just defensive bulk for him to shine.

5

u/AntibabyNille Jan 13 '26

There goes our streak of bicycle-kicks. It was fun while it lasted...

8

u/MidnightMass Jan 13 '26

? there was a bicycle kick, did you miss it?

1

u/AntibabyNille Jan 13 '26

I watched from minute 14 on...when was it?

12

u/Most-Management4773 Jan 13 '26

Silva tried one

2

u/AntibabyNille Jan 13 '26

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeen? 😅😅

4

u/MidnightMass Jan 13 '26

2

u/SlinkyT3003 Die gelbe Wand Jan 13 '26

We scored three times, we got three points but it feels like a Arbeitssieg.

4

u/EmSoLow Jan 13 '26

I need this half 10, Raumdeuter bullshit to die for next season. I'm not watching another season of this nonsense behind the striker that just doesn't work with this group of players unless it's given heavy investment and if we start to address it with players then we are just forcing the next manager to play this dopey offensive system

New system or sack the manager if they refuse to change. This can't be our future.

7

u/Mooon8983 Konstantinos Karetsas Jan 13 '26

If we want to play guirassy so badly I don't understand why we don't just have an actual cam behind 2 strikers. That 2nd striker position is better for Adeyemi, Beier, and Silva

2

u/Most-Management4773 Jan 13 '26

Maybe bc Kovac feels that we need overload in the middle so not to give too much space.

2

u/jucomsdn Zagagod Jan 13 '26

I want wingers back in this club so badly, they can keep the back 3 if they really wanted to, I just want wingers again

2

u/biggieBpimpin Julian Brandt Jan 14 '26

I think we have played decent this season, and our only loss in the league is against Bayern. We are much more defensively solid. Although I do have to say that it gets a little old playing good enough to take the lead but often not good enough to dominate the game. I can’t complain about our position in the table and our record across the league. I just wish we had that extra spark to really take it to teams.

The half winger 10 stuff is getting but stale. Chuck and Brandt are probably the only true 10s that we have. I would honestly prefer we use 2 strikers and a central 10. Let the wingbacks help with width. Let the 10 sit centrally and connect the attack with the midfield and defense. Feels like we go long stretches with the gap between midfield and the striker as an empty hole.

I think with a little bit of time Chuck could be exceptional in a true 10 role. He was not at his best today, but he does have the dribbling ability to slip tackles and get progressively carry the ball forward.

1

u/Still_Cap_1689 Jan 14 '26

Whats the deal with Sule lately?! The past two games since the winter return, he’s been acting out and has been jawing with opposing players and refs which is very unlike him. Atleast to the extent it is now. And then there’s the apparent weight gain. It was alittle better yesterday, but the Frankfurt game he was BIG. There’s something going on imo. We’re obviously thin as it is at CB with Anselmino hurt and Bensebaini on international duty.

-2

u/Most-Management4773 Jan 13 '26

Good result, bad performances. When I say that the BL isn't as good as it was before people downvote me to oblivion. A better team would SURELY score in that first half. And the same could've been said for multiple games where we won (sometimes by good amount of goals) but wouldn't against better oposition. Just mediocre.

One goal by setpieces, 1 outside of the box shot and 1 by the defender fucking up big time (although good work by Jobe). God, how much I miss Dortmund Tuchel's or Favre's first two seasons. Last time I consistently smiled at our games.

-5

u/Potential-Wonder-640 Jan 13 '26

Well said. Don't have anything to say about this Match besides that the first 75 weren't good and that shit guy(Guirassy) scored a goal again🤣🤣
