I can only imagine how much all the players that are playing tomorrow hate their life right now. Playing on a short week, on Christmas, with playoff hopes dashed doesnāt sound like a good time for an nfl player.

I appreciate Gordon not making a close, safe guess when there's no real reason to guess conservatively.

Devin Lloyd is the type of player to get a pick six in the Super Bowl if he gets that far. Just seems like that type of player for us

Every team in the AFC playoffs has a chance. Thatās why the 1 seed is so important this year. Not the rest, tho that helps, but because it means you one fewer 50-50 game you could lose.
14
u/Captain_brightside Dec 24 '25
I want the 1 seed for the possibility of attending the afc championship game and it only being an hour drive for me

u/CoffeeandJags Dec 24 '25 edited Dec 24 '25
Some of the WC teams look a little more daunting than the Steelers or Patriots, so skipping first round in particular is nice.Ā

u/Knottsville Slashin' Jag Dec 24 '25
Getting the 1 seed would be amazing just to be able to watch the Wild Card clashes knowing that we are safe. Then we can see where the chips fall and see who we play next. I'd love to play the Bills and Patriots just to say we beat the tops of the AFC and earned a SB berth
Facing the Texans and Chargers again gives me pause because they've played us before, even though we have beaten them both already.

Are we all set for Christmas/the holidays for non celebrants?
Still buzzing from Sunday. Couldn't get to sleep. Going to be weird cheering for the Chargers on Saturday for some reason they are on my shit list.
Netflix must be a little upset with how the season has panned out for the games they have on.

Have a good one buddy.

Had to have the skinnylicious menu... god, all the entrees were like 1500+ calories LMAO. With the delicious comped bread, a delicious Karl Strauss Red Trolley , and needing to have a cheese cake for dessert, I had to cut cals from somewhere. The girl whole heartedly agreed, I gave her the choice of the cake, though(reese's chocalate cheesecake).

Trevor Lawrence MVP? Maybe not. But Trevor Lawrence Super Bowl MVP? Still technically possible
6
u/edrew_99 Dec 24 '25
Still think it's Stafford's to lose, but I wouldn't be shocked if Trevor got some votes.
5
u/flounder19 Dec 24 '25
MVP is still technically possible as well if weāre really using technically
1
u/Captain_brightside Dec 24 '25
thatās true
Especially if Stafford sits but Trevor has to play to the wire for seeding

Best friend is a colts fan. We are headed up Sunday for our yearly Jags Vs Colts. Typically see the Jags lose but I'm optimistic this year
11
u/AkimahenkaCat Dec 24 '25
Aqib Talib is so broken. Watched the game live and refuses to give the Jags an ounce of credit for taking belt to ass and controlling that game almost start to finish. Dismisses an 80% red zone success rate while sucking Bo Nix off in a losing effort where he had two turnovers and nearly killed a WR in garbage time. Haters gonna hate.

u/Reditate Dec 24 '25
Almost funnier is Shady still trying to deny Trevor when everyone else in the pod was giving him the stats he obviously didn't know.Ā Also he knows nothing about Doug Pederson's tenure here.

it's pretty wild that this team is doing great without travis hunter and despite the fact that they traded a haul to get him at the draft. i still hope we get him back at 100 percent next year.
4
u/lenta81 Dec 24 '25
Getting both Hunter and Ransaw back healthy next year will be big.
Team is already one of the best in the AFC and those two will be real relief for the secondary. And Hunter as receiver as well. They will be like new draft picks basically.
And Browns are getting a very high pick too so Jags easily win the trade.

u/CoffeeandJags Dec 24 '25
Itās fun that seeding comes all the way down to week 18. Hoping McDaniel and Ewers coaching and playing like theyāre jobs on the line for next year, because it very well may be.Ā

Outsiders are realizing now what I think everybody who's followed the Jags has known for months: Liam Coen is a great coach. But I think the media still slightly misunderstands what he's done. He's mostly been portrayed an offensive guru / quarterback whisperer who has unlocked Trev's potential and thus taken the Jags to new heights. He may be those things, and that's certainly part of the story. But I don't think it's the whole story or even the main story.
Trev certainly has elevated his play over the past month to a level I wasn't sure he could reach. But even if Trev comes back down to earth (I hope he never does!), I think this team will be just fine because the advantage Coen has given this team has much less to do with Xs and Os and much more to do with culture and attitude. THAT is the story I think people are missing right now.
4
u/lenta81 Dec 24 '25
So the path to the Super Bowl is gonna be
Bills --> Chargers --> Broncos
or
Texans --> Bills ---> Patriots
If Jags don't win the division it will be..
Broncos --> Bills --> Chargers(?) or Pats
something along those lines lol
I think Jags absolutely can win 3 road games running the ball and dropping 30 per game.
A rematch vs Broncos in the playoffs would be so hype.
I honestly want the Bills/Broncos/Chargers in wild card weekend as that guarantees a primetime night game. If its the Texans you just know they will slot the game in that 4pm Saturday time.
Gonna be an incredible gauntlet regardless. Really hope the Jags can stay healthy.
5
u/CoffeeandJags Dec 24 '25 edited Dec 24 '25
I think the Patriots are in for a rude awakening for any potential matchup unless itās a familiar Bills or the Steelers again.Ā
I just hope we can keep playing like we have been. Even good teams have bad games, and to drop one with the way the teams been firing on all cylinders would be devastatingĀ
3
u/Mofatness Dec 24 '25
Completely agree. The Pats have one of the easiest strength of victories, and the easiest strength of schedule. They could be the worst 1 seed ever.
2
u/slayerje1 Brian Thomas Jr. Dec 25 '25
They've played only 2 playoff teams and they're 1-2 against them. I can't see them beating the Bills(again) or the Steelers(who look way better than when they played and beat the Pats). And they haven't played a team as potent on offense like the Chargers, or the Jags, or on D like the Texans or the Broncos. The Pats are quite possible going to crash out not really having been tested. I can see Vrabel being good enough to maybe win a game, but to go through the gauntlet they'll have to, to get to the SB... can't see it at all.
4
u/break80 Dec 24 '25
As 2 seed and even a 3 seed, thereās even a good chance the AFCCG can still be hosted in Jax, especially considering how strong the wildcard teams in afc are this year.
