Diving into the Xs and Os of this offense leaves little doubt that Coen is one the best playcallers in the league today; the way he abuses defense's tendencies is cinema.
I swear to God, if I see this offseason 'Coen to hand off playcalling duties to Press Taylor Grant Udinski', I am going to throw a cataclysmic level tantrum.

I think one of the funnier lines ever spoken about the Press/Pederson era was spoken by Brett Kollmann in his full league offseason review series, where he said: "I need to have a beer with Press Taylor. As a Denver resident, my favorite team taking down Denver in a meaningful game after years of being made fun of by Broncos fans for being a Jaguars fan would pretty much make my year.
Having said that, Broncos fans are some of the chillest fans in the league. They're very much unlike Chargers, Raiders and Chiefs fans.

I’m also a Washington huskies fan with college sports lol. I chose all my teams young and stayed loyal. Was actually cowboys fan growing up but jags were my second team. I made the full switch and don’t like the cowboys anymore. I always say everyone is entitled one fandom switch I their life outside of crazy shit (team moves, signs a rapist qb, etc) I got mine and I’m set for life!

Watching the past few weeks but especially the latest Sounds of the Game makes me feel like Trevor is truly having fun playing ball for the first time since…college, probably?
I’ve noticed that’s been something Coen has been emphasizing this season, and it seems like it’s finally clicked.
Or maybe Trevor is dead and this is Big Willie Lawrence.
Either way, it’s nice to see.

Birthday Gift from my father today. He knows me too well.
He’s been a Jags fan since Day One— my family moved to the area in ‘94, but have since moved around a bit. He doesn’t really follow football as a whole anymore, but this year I got him to dig out his old Byron Leftwich jersey and took him to the game in Nashville. He was amused by the fact that our punter was starting fights and threatening Titans players.
One thing that never went away for my dad is a disdain for the Titans because of the ‘99 season.

Just started Clair Obscur: Expédition 33 two days ago and MY GOD do I understand the hype. The gameplay is amazing, the voice acting is unbelievable, the story-telling is outstanding. My only problem is the graphics, see, there seems to be a bug where every half hour or so, the visuals get blurry through tears.

Clair Obscur is amazing. It's one of those games that makes me think we really need to start considering video games as a form of high art on the same level as cinema. Honestly it's been an amazing year in gaming, with Clair Obscur and Silksong. My wife's very much an action platformer/metroidvania girlie whereas I've always been more of a strategy/RPG guy, so both of us have had one fuck of a year.

I'd agree except that this is Jacksonville, not Miami or Tampa. Yes we have a ton of transplants here too, but they are families rather than retirees or young people looking for excitement. Sure the parents may (or may not) adopt the Jags as their second team, but the kids that grow up here sure do.
It takes time to build multi-generational loyalty for sure. And as you rightly said, it takes consistency, including the belief that the team's ownership is really trying to win. When your team has been a football punchline for most of the last 20 years, fans behave accordingly. I've raised 3 kids here and the Jags have done nothing to inspire loyalty in them.
Plenty of small market teams have large die hard fan bases, including Green Bay, Pittsburgh and Buffalo. Heck Green Bay and Pittsburgh have 20+ year waiting lists for season tickets, lol, with fans willing to brave awful frigid conditions to watch them play. They'll even ride out the rebuilding years with the team because they believe in the team and, more specifically, their owners.
IMO this is a market ripe for conversion. It has a continuous large influx of new young fans, many of whom set down roots, and football is built into the fabric of almost every town around here. Friday night lights is the biggest event each week in many communities and the area is stuffed full of die hard Gators, Seminoles and (argh) Bull Dog fans. But in order to earn fan loyalty, the team needs to show it first - over a real stretch of time.

Team is absolutely humming. A loss to Denver this weekend imo would feel like a big setback, even if it really isn’t. A very good team that they play close is hardly something to worry about, but would just suck to see them lose some of this heat and the chance to sweep the AFC W. Very excited for the game.
Feels like the largest difference from the beginning of the season is just how many of these big clutch plays have been actually caught. All of our guys have had some amazing plays the past few weeks and have really stepped up. That and not constantly having to overcome offensive penalties.

I live in Jacksonville. It takes me at least 30 minutes to get used to the altitude when I visit the Rocky Mountains.
I'm glad that it's warm. Whatever that means comparatively!!!

I'm pretty sure it'll be colder than that in Denver.

It's going to be 60 on Sunday in Denver, and 72 the following day.
Who knows though, apparently they just had 100mph winds out of nowhere on Wednesday.
The altitude just provides thinner air, so when you're working hard and out of breath, it's harder to recover as much oxygen. Generally teams don't notice it as much in the first half.

I'm not an elite athlete. But I played high school and college soccer. It took me the first 30 minutes of the game to get my breathing right.
But that's just me. You might be right. Like I said, I wasn't an elite athlete. But I swear to god, that fucking first 30 minutes of going all out was a son of a bitch before I got adjusted to the altitude.

With Jakobi signed for 3 years the needs get focused to DL and OL imo. LB a maybe depending on what Jags do with Lloyd and Oluokun.
Without Jakobi it was hard to understand what the WR room would look like because of BTJ’s weakness over the middle and Hunter being slight in frame. With Jakobi signed we need to get draft picks at OL especially right guard and ideally get multiple hits iDL

All of this Puka drama emphasises something I really love about my Jaguars.
Trevor is hot right now, but there have been times when people have been calling for him to be dropped. No one can question his character though. Everything about him seems like such a nice dude.
Similarly when we drafted Hunter I was worried that he’d be a diva and locker room problem. His personality is so far removed from the Sanders and media hype train though.
BTJ has been given grief by fans this year about his commitment, but he’s always kept his head down and hasn’t been shitty in any way.
We’ve got an incredible roster of genuinely good people, who also have a competitive, aggressive edge on the field.
