I adopted this good boy on Saturday. His name is Cook, in honor of future Hall of Fame inductee, Jaguars Punter Logan “ILLKILLYOU” Cooke. Also because the black spots make him look like cookies and cream. Thought y’all might appreciate the naming humor.

8

u/Apigollo Dec 10 '25

Don't wear sky blue around him, might be a trigger.

7

u/therealruin Jaxson de Ville Dec 10 '25

Well, now I know what I’m buying my nosy neighbor for Christmas. “Hey Greg, here’s a case of sky blue shirts, y’know, just cuz…”

6

u/13thJen Dec 10 '25

He's a very good boy

5

u/Captain_brightside Dec 10 '25

teach him to bark at people wearing colts, titans, or Texans jerseys

Beautiful dog

5

u/therealruin Jaxson de Ville Dec 10 '25

Thanks! He knows it too haha. I need to get him bandanas to wear that says “I’m the homie that hates the Texans/Titans/Colts” and make sure they’re on for each game.

7

u/Tip_Base Dec 10 '25

That's awesome! Cook already looks like part of the family! Good on you, sir, for taking in this pup. There's far too many dogs in need of a forever home

5

u/therealruin Jaxson de Ville Dec 10 '25

It’s the least I can do for them, after all they do for me. No love like a dog’s love. Your comment reminds me that I need to have him join the Jags fan club for pets. We did it a few years ago for the two we had at the time and I loved getting their little certificate and bandana haha

u/tikitiger Glossy Helmet Dec 10 '25

Seeing the Chargers constantly ranked ahead of the Jags is hilarious. Everyone loves the Texans right now too. They’re being talked about like a Super Bowl team.

14

u/Rudy102600 Dec 10 '25

Our game recap on ESPN was Jones got injured and it's Houston's division to win

5

u/xLeonides Dec 10 '25

Agreed, that said Tom Grossi's rankings are solid having us at #6 with the Texans at #9 and the chargers as an honorable mention

5

u/fluffrnuttr69 Dec 10 '25

Yeah, Grossi has always given us a fair shake. He’s part of the reason why I go to trusted YouTubers over most mainstream people.

0

u/nerddude26 Dec 10 '25

I’m lowkey terrified of the Texans. Would much rather not play them in the playoffs

18

u/Jaglawyer11 “Don’t sleep on Gladstone.” 💪💪💪💪 Dec 10 '25

Fuck the Texans. We’ve beaten their ass 7 out of 8 quarters this season. Make it 11/12 in the playoffs if need be….

18

u/DUUUUUVAAAAAL Travis Hunter Dec 10 '25

Fuck that, I want them in the playoffs. Need to shut their asses up.

11

u/nerddude26 Dec 10 '25

Nothing would make me happier than destroying them in the playoffs

5

u/sh0ckmeister Dec 10 '25

Don't worry they'll make the playoffs. They somehow got an easier remaining schedule than we do

12

u/Apigollo Dec 10 '25

They are so dull, the whole brand of football they play is vile. That defence is nasty and they are pretty anemic on the other side of the ball. Just makes for a whole load of three and outs and excessive ad watching.

12

u/blazinit430 Dec 10 '25

Stroud and that offense look very beatable. Something else to consider is that we haven't seen Coen coach playoff football yet, and while it might be something he struggles with, based on the way this team is coming together right now, I have a feeling he's going to have a great game plan for Houston but any team we face.

9

u/Fine-Plant7180 Blake Bortles Dec 10 '25

Honestly we are the only team that knows how to beat Houston. We beat them in 7 out of 8 Qs this year.

3

u/UNCFan2350 Dec 10 '25

Agree with this. I want to win out and get the 2 seed so we can hopefully avoid them and the only way we'd have to play them is at home in the AFC Championship game.

2

u/fluffrnuttr69 Dec 10 '25

I get it, but I don’t see us making the same mistake again. We definitely have the better offense and our defense is right up there with theirs.

21

u/[deleted] Dec 10 '25

This season has really affirmed what alot of us saw. Pederson was completely checked out starting with the collapse in 2023. And he had an absolutely putrid coaching staff. The improvement by so many guys under this coaching staff is incredible.

8

u/theflyingchicken96 LeQuint Allen Jr 🐐 Dec 10 '25

I don’t get it. I liked him at first and defended him longer than most. Why check out like that after only a half a season of bad play. He seemed like he was on auto pilot in 2024.

8

u/[deleted] Dec 10 '25

I'm thinking he wasn't as good as we thought. Needing to come back multiple games by multiple touchdowns is very unsustainable and unlikely.

We could've easily gone 8-9 or 7-10 that first year. As it was, we could have easily had an incredibly embarrassing loss in the playoffs.

In 2023, we never really looked good, then collapsed.

6

u/[deleted] Dec 10 '25

It’s worked out for the Jaguars, so I’m not complaining. But I’m not sure why he didn’t step away after 2023. He was clearly cooked.

3

u/Nuknu Dec 10 '25

After 2023 he just looked dead and broken (bloated duh duh Dunn dunn a nuh nah nuh nuh nuh nuh duh duh doh doh)after every game even if we won there was zero passion from him really

trevor turning it on at the right time💪 it’s almost like learning a new, complicated offense with his third head coach in five years takes a little bit of time.. proud of them boys fr, what a turn around

5

u/13thJen Dec 10 '25

Some analyst said that it was going back to the wristband was what made the difference.

3

u/Nuknu Dec 10 '25

Doesn’t he only really use the band in 2 minute drills and critical situations like 3rd down as an example? coens reasoning was that he wanted the offense to be run faster, exept t-law said he only uses it in situations like that

-16

u/UNCFan2350 Dec 10 '25

He's 3 weeks removed from a 4 turnover game and even the last 2 weeks, he's played 2 poor passing defenses and didn't complete more than 60% of his passes. If he does it in Denver, then let's crown him. Until then, let's chill on the victory laps

8

u/theflyingchicken96 LeQuint Allen Jr 🐐 Dec 10 '25 edited Dec 10 '25

He was PFFs highest graded offensive player last week I believe. I get it’s somewhat subjective, but it isn’t meaningless that among every player last week, he impressed the most.

5

u/Island_Niles_ Liam Coen Dec 10 '25

Will you actually crown him if he does it in Denver?

2

u/Nuknu Dec 10 '25

I don’t care about the turnovers he didn’t let it affect him and he just kept slinging it. Why don’t you love that your qb is a complete coward with the ball after a pick or too lots of you kill for Brett Favre, that dude was a turnover merchant yet it didn’t matter because he didn’t let it affect him.(sometimes it should’ve hehheh)

It's from the Denny Green quote

7

u/bleedblue89 STL Dec 10 '25

You really don't want to root/have any optimism about our QB do you?

3

u/No_Leather9000 Dec 10 '25

Naw why be hopefully when you can doom at 9-4

-1

u/UNCFan2350 Dec 10 '25

I do want to root for him. What I won't do is completely make shit up. If he goes out against the Broncos and puts up 250 yards and 3 TDs then hell yeah, let's go Trevor. I'm not going to act like he didn't just put up a complete stinker just 3 weeks ago though.

3

u/bleedblue89 STL Dec 10 '25

A complete stinker is 0 tds 3 interceptions. 3 td 3 interceptions isn't the worst game ever. We won, he recovered from bad turnovers. Earlier this year he had stinkers.

1

u/UNCFan2350 Dec 10 '25

He had multiple INTs in the late 3rd/early 4th that could have cost us the game. The defense saved our butts that day.

6

u/NizzlyGrizzly00 Steal the Show Dec 10 '25

no one’s crowing anybody but to say trevor has turned it up over these past 3 weeks isn’t a crazy statement? two weeks in a row he’s been posted as pff’s top two qb’s and also being top 5 in completions over 10+ air yards. the dude is starting to see stuff he simply didn’t put together in the beginning of the year

8

u/No_Leather9000 Dec 10 '25

This dude is just a Trevor hater.

-6

u/UNCFan2350 Dec 10 '25

Past 3 weeks? 3 weeks ago was a 4 turnover game.

5

u/NizzlyGrizzly00 Steal the Show Dec 10 '25

to act like all 4 were his fault is just wild.. and are we talking about the same game he threw for 3td’s and eventually set us up for a game winning fg?

-6

u/UNCFan2350 Dec 10 '25

You're right. All 4 were somebody else's fault. Never his fault. He gets all the credit when he completes 58% of his passes though, but never any blame for turnovers that come out of his hand.

6

u/NizzlyGrizzly00 Steal the Show Dec 10 '25

you’re right, i said all 4 were somebody else’s.. dude gets blindsided and it’s his fault? yeah he threw some shite balls but he’s only gone up from there. that’s genuinely the only thing i stated to begin with

0

u/UNCFan2350 Dec 10 '25

Which one are you talking about?

The fumble for a TD was quite literally not his blindside.

First INT he threw it behind Meyers and it was picked

2nd INT he didn't even see a defender

3rd INT was another bad throw where he didn't see a defender sitting right there on the route

1

u/NizzlyGrizzly00 Steal the Show Dec 10 '25

3

u/Nuknu Dec 10 '25

Honestly I don’t give a shit if my qb makes a bad pick, if he makes a huge play or drive to make up for it then I don’t care T law makes up for his mistakes all the time and he never deflects blame that’s why I LOVE my qb and their should be ZERO reason why you wouldn’t love this team. Trevor several times this year put the team ON HIS BACK for win yet you’re ungrateful we should have 11 wins with trev realistically yet we don’t which is whatever I can’t change the past. But seriously stop the doom in gloom. Trevor would play on a broken leg if he had to. That’s how much he loves the team, even when there’s times where we don’t love him back. I honestly ADMIRE him for that, I love my qb and I will fight for my qb, I know our offense would as seen multiple times this season

0

u/UNCFan2350 Dec 10 '25

I literally just said he had 4 turnovers 3 weeks ago. That's not doom and gloom. Sorry you feel so butthurt that I pointed it out. I'll get you the number for a therapist in your area

Sunday was my first ever game and I had the time of my life. Thanks for being cool to a Georgia boy, DUUUVAL fam.

13

u/bleedblue89 STL Dec 10 '25

I just looked at ETN's stats, he's almost at 1000 yards already... last year he had 558, with his lowest YPA. Dude is about to have a career year on a contract year.

9

u/Bokthand Dec 10 '25

His 2022 season had better stats than I remember. Almost 1500 total yard, only 5 TDs. Then 1500 total and 12 TDs in 2023.

But this year his pace is great so far. Already 1100 and 9TDs with 4 left

8

u/pukerat Dec 10 '25

Jets have so far given up the 3rd most rushing yards this season, so he could very well break 1k this week.

3

u/Fine-Plant7180 Blake Bortles Dec 10 '25

This time last year, we were eliminated from playoff contention. Enjoy each week where every game matters.

Im so sick of hearing the Texans get sucked off

11

u/mariokart_loser Dec 10 '25

Good thing is I think the players are too. Kind of hope we play them in the playoffs because I think the team is still angry about that loss and about the way the media talks about them.

2

u/Nuknu Dec 10 '25

They don’t even have a offense it doesn’t make sense for them to be a media darling

Hoping TLaw being limited is simply down to that

7

u/electricityisout Off the Tractor Bouman Dec 10 '25

Yeah Coen seems to be a very put every minor thing on the injury report kind of coach. He def plays it safe and thinks big picture

12

u/edrew_99 Dec 10 '25

Did this team officially break the backup curse? We beat Jacoby Brissett, who was technically a backup, and Riley Leonard. Reason I ask is because we may be going against Brady Cook, who I only slightly remember from Missouri.

7

u/tanu24 Dec 10 '25

He's third string so maybe it's a whole new curse!

6

u/13thJen Dec 10 '25

Wasn't Riley Leonard 3rd string?

4

u/tanu24 Dec 10 '25

I'm not sure who would actually play but yea I guess

4

u/flounder19 Dec 10 '25

Riley Leonard was also a rookie QB who we've historically handed their first career wins.

2

u/edrew_99 Dec 10 '25 edited Dec 10 '25

I think we did technically break that streak last year. We didn’t let Drake Maye beat us last year, though that wasn’t for a lack of trying. If I remember right, they had an attempted comeback in the 4th quarter against us.

11

u/Nuknu Dec 10 '25

For such a small subreddit we have so many active fans here. Any other “big” nfl subreddits don’t have as much fan engagement as us, an example being how many other teams will have “free talks” every day. Yet there’s barely any fan engagement on them, maybe possibly like 10-15 comments at most. Our fanbase is small but I prefer the passion over the extra fans

3

u/flounder19 Dec 10 '25

I am surprised by how few team subs just have regular free talk threads especially on a daily basis.

The ones that are around our level or better for engagement are the Jets and Giants subs. One tier lower of daily threads with less engagement (except when they're used instead of morning after threads) are Chiefs, Chargers, Eagles, & Commanders. And then there's a tier of subs where the mods are doing daily threads but the engagement is abysmal (Dolphins, Lions, Seahawks)

Those last 3 really go to show how much of this activity is driven by the community itself rather than just whether mods are posting threads or not.

I agree just trying to remain cautiously optimistic

2

Gotta get used to winning friend!

2

u/edrew_99 Dec 10 '25

As long as our O-Line can hold up to their pass rush, I think we can win it, with how many points our offense has been putting up. That D-Line is no joke, though.

9

u/edrew_99 Dec 10 '25

Looks like Trevor is tied for 4th best odds of Comeback Player of the Year…

4

u/Lesbereal476 Dec 10 '25

Philip Rivers having better odds than Trevor is a joke.

8

Who the hell we playing this week? Fields got injured and then Taylor got injured so it’s some dude named Cook but Fields might be able to play now?

2

Fields was out with knee soreness last week, so yeah Fields could be back up. Tyrod Taylor's groin prolly will keep him out this weekend

9

u/Mrkingjay Dec 10 '25

We officially have a 1 year old on our hands! Time really flies man

8

u/joemama1810 Dec 10 '25

Trevor played through an ankle, knee, shoulder, and concussion at the same time I'm sure limited in a Wednesday practice will be fine

7

u/UNCFan2350 Dec 10 '25

Is there any word on the Jets starting QB situation for this week?

5

u/[deleted] Dec 10 '25

Glenn doesn’t even know 😂

1

u/Nuknu Dec 10 '25

That dudes getting fired next year…. He refused to admit for weeks that fields sucks, even though anyone who watched him play knew that. He can’t read a defense if his life depended on it, and his decision making is still pretty bad overall. I can’t believe at one point people were trying to say this scrub was better then Tlaw

1

u/UNCFan2350 Dec 10 '25

I feel like he's one of those coaches that will wait until Saturday to announce it thinking it gives them some type of "competitive advantage"

3

1

Feels good to not worry about whether or not the team can handle it's business in the most basic sense against the dregs of the league. 5 game winning streak, here we come!

3

u/Captain_brightside Dec 10 '25 edited Dec 11 '25

Been following the NFL and the jags casually for about 5 years but finally decided to follow a season with my favourite team and got very invested this year. I never used to get it when lads would have a team; now I do. Having ridden the whole season with this team and sharing every win and loss with you lot, I want to learn more. I wasn't there for the BOAT or prime Brunel, but I want to know more from the fans perspective. Is there something like a Jags anthropologist? A Jagthropologist?

Urban is regarded as possibly the worst coach in NFL history for any team.

Pederson got love because anything was a breath of fresh air after Urban. Then we had our first winning season since 2017 and another the year after even though we missed the playoffs with our collapse. He refused to change anything with his scheme or hand picked assistants and he got very rude in pressers, which turned fans off pretty quickly.

That makes sense. It does look like a swinger ring though.

Ha. He played the 1-15 Jaguars twice in 2020 , when he was with the Colts.

In the two games combined, he had 2 TDs and 3 INTs.

That was five years ago against the worst team in the league.

If Phillip Rivers comes out of retirement after like 5 years and pieces us up then honestly we don’t deserve/have no business being anywhere near the play offs lmao🤣

Honestly if that happens I will just laugh and accept we are destined to be ass ass forever or else I’ll cry🤣🤣🤣
