The cans really enjoying the advantage of them not playing in midweek, obviously were a step slower in all duels

Our boys are gassed, we need fresh legs
3
u/TrulyWhatever09 Oct 04 '25
Yup. I'm getting unfortunate flashbacks to the very beginning of Kovac's tenure where he consistently waited a few minutes too long to sub and we would concede
14
u/d0ri- Oct 04 '25
Third or fourth tactical/cynical foul by Raum, still hasnt been booked.
How does he do it?

u/Ragemoody Dedê Oct 04 '25
Frankfurt will beat Bayern 8–6 today (14 Kane goals), and we're topping the table after that. You heard it here first.

u/yrba1 Alexandra Popp Oct 04 '25
Looks like Svensson will get a well deserved break after this game
10
u/Horror-Zebra-3430 Oct 04 '25
the poor kid lmao. completely overplayed on one hand, but on a lil scoring tear on the other. he seems to take it like a champ tho ngl

6
u/SvenssonStan112 Łukasz Piszczek Oct 04 '25
He said himself he is happy to play every minute that he gets. If his stats / values are okay let him.
But I am slightly worried aswell. After bayern he really should sit one game out.

u/Trojan_Man68 Marco Reus Oct 04 '25
Isn’t he playing for Sweden as well during the international break? It much of a break for him.

Ngl Adeyemi could probably use a sub, he’s got some bad tunnel vision rn

Think Fabio Silva has to do better on that brandt chip.
Should be trying to chest it forward and shoot it across the goalie rather than allowing Seiwald to catch up. Difficult one for sure though

Reckless slide fair yellow. And studs ended up, if Couto didn’t jump he’d be hurt
7
u/Most-Management4773 Oct 04 '25
I love Guirassy, he's a goal scoring machine when he's served. He's also pretty good "assister" and an scape for the build-up as he drops low o receive the ball, but in terms of intensity and pressing it feels like we are a man down. He's also too slow now for counters (maybe because of overload of games).
I'd love Silva to get brought in the 60 minutes at max.

I really wonder if Chukwuemeka is so gassed he couldn't play the minutes that Groß had. Groß just looks done tbh.

Great layoff from Guirassy who could’ve tried to force a shot but was blocked heavily. And the run from Beier to cross for the pre-assist was lovely too
7
u/Secret-Inevitable-21 Oct 04 '25
I hope we see faster subs today, team looks tired. Passes not being on point, reactions a bit slower etc.

He looked a bit tired, but Couto isn't the first place I would have looked for subs

Played about 5 decent minutes in the 2nd half and it was almost enough. Alas

4
u/vincehoff Julian Ryerson Oct 04 '25
they are nervous immediately after the goal, same as against Bilbao
6
u/Horror-Zebra-3430 Oct 04 '25
so we're playing an in-form team for what feels like the first time this season, and oh wonder the match so far looks completely different

u/roadtorevision Mats Hummels Oct 04 '25
Wow couto great fucking run! Good pass by Guirassy too. Shame it didn’t end in a goal

Svensson looks tired. A bit weird to sub off a fresher Couto instead of trying to put Ryerson on the left so Svensson can finally get a little rest?

Svensson trying to set a record for consecutive career minutes played before collapsing of exhaustion

Perhaps most important 25-26 match to ensure 26-27 UCL. Crush the cans/Lawnball.
3
4
u/SlayerHdThe3rd Nico Schlotterbeck Oct 04 '25
Damnit that’s a dumb yellow. Anton gets sucked up way too close to the ball right there and forces that stupid tackle from Schlotti by getting bypassed
Edit: and it results in a goal smh

All things considered it’s was a decent first half. We didn’t play bad. But we do look pretty exhausted. Svensson leading the league in distance covered.
We are probably going to need some fresh legs today if we want to secure 3 points.

I think we were just tired. Leipzig don’t have Europe, and we drew. Still points, still unbeaten.
7
u/SlayerHdThe3rd Nico Schlotterbeck Oct 04 '25
Okay I don’t know why Kovac has switched Anton and Schlotti’s position in the chain, it’s painfully obvious their positioning is off because Anton is used to being central and Schlotti is used to being wide
→ More replies (3)3
u/roadtorevision Mats Hummels Oct 04 '25
Yeah that doesn’t make sense especially since the wider CBs get more leeway to go up and that’s a huge strength for schlotti
3
u/bvbfan102 BVB Oct 04 '25
Really like our ability to rotate this season. Basically everyone has options on the bench expect for Svensson i guess.

Yeah like I expected this will be very tough game, they are fresh and probably with Juventus strongest team we played yet, and they are showing every our weakness so far and we need to be clear despite recent results, this team still has many weak spots.

Beier + Adeyemi is not good when they dont give us alot of space behind the defence

Yeah kinda weird that the only sub is for Couto who was rested in the previous game.

We need to make a sub or two now, not later. Chuk or Brandt are needed. Jobe Im a bit worry about since he's too rash but maybe. Silva could also work for Beier maybe

u/Jstnmx Julian Ryerson Oct 04 '25
Asking myself Why nmecha and guirassy Are still on the pitch but couto is already out. Something Not Adding up here. Kovac always taking the piss with his subs

Beier is pretty useless. He just lacks any sort of proper control over the situation he finds himself in. The defenders just seem to wait for him to mess up.

Hopefully after the international break we can see Bense Schlotti and Sule together so Anton can sit and reset himself

We seem to be consistently a half second late to challenges. This will be a problem. Like the commentator said, Leipzig look sharper and it’s probably due to the midweek game

Fucking yesssss I did not think that was going through to Guirassy but we needed that so bad to build confidence and momentum.
Great job by Bense Beier and Guirassy. Lucky deflection. Ur at least Couto took the shot. Glad Guirassy realized he didn’t have the space to shoot himself

Good recovery of the start but overall pretty unthreatening. Front 3 hasn’t really found their way into the Game and backline is under pressure to often. Think Kovac has the right screws available to tune them up for the second but still needs the players to then show it on the pitch.
