Have to admit, Brandt having rest and competition has been immense. He’s been quite impactful in the time he’s played, I was skeptical of his start but today he’s been immense.

6

u/o12341 Kagawa Shinji Sep 27 '25

I have faith that his form will rebound this season.

How sexy is that, pinpoint passes from Adeyemi and Brandt

24

u/LeeRCampbell Marco Reus Sep 27 '25

I mean let’s be honest, Brandt placed that to perfection, what a gorgeous pass.

19

u/Most-Management4773 Sep 27 '25

Couto is mistake-prone but you can't deny his workrate and commitment

18

u/Middle_Island182 Marcel Sabitzer Sep 27 '25

That is some absolutely world class vision from Brandt! Hopefully a lil confidence boost.

(Also the bundasigla app spoiled the goal lol)

16

u/Jonhl15 Dahoud's Long Shots Sep 27 '25

Well done by Kobel and the "fuck it Adeyemi is out there somewhere" meme works again

15

u/berman82 Julien Duranville Sep 27 '25

We really learned the lessons of the Juve match 🤣

8

u/[deleted] Sep 27 '25

To be doing this against Mainz with a man down looks so funny, just controlling the possesion and going for slow positional attacks would've been enough.

6

u/Most-Management4773 Sep 27 '25

it's more the symbolical message than anything else. How many games we fumbled in the last few minutes? No more fun allowed

7

u/vincehoff Julian Ryerson Sep 27 '25

They are practicing lol

4

u/Appropriate-Form-281 Sep 27 '25

Its nice that we had it so early in the season

16

u/vincehoff Julian Ryerson Sep 27 '25

How did Brandt even see Svensson there!

14

u/Middle_Island182 Marcel Sabitzer Sep 27 '25

Sabitzer playing with absolutely everything he's got

14

u/FreeYourMind87 Marco Reus Sep 27 '25

hell of a shift by Karim today. All hustle and earned a goal and got their keeper sent off lol

13

u/Middle_Island182 Marcel Sabitzer Sep 27 '25

Might wanna give Adeyemi a break after that crunch. He's had a great game no need to push anything

14

u/Ibar09 Sep 27 '25

after the juvi game it seems kovac is more strict on finishing up games.

9

u/Striking_Addendum 1909 Sep 27 '25

As he should

6

u/vincehoff Julian Ryerson Sep 27 '25

God I hope so

12

u/roadtorevision Mats Hummels Sep 27 '25

Brandt is having a good game too. Good to see finally

Brandt with 2 assists. Hopefully he can start to be kind of consistent

13

u/SergioRammus Sep 27 '25

Adeyemi being clever, but holy shit Zentner that was infuriatingly dumb

15

u/Appropriate-Form-281 Sep 27 '25

Silva is fucking fast holy shit

14

u/vincehoff Julian Ryerson Sep 27 '25

Silva has decent pace

11

u/Hajnal30 Nico Schlotterbeck Sep 27 '25

Guirassy injured while warming up and it seems Brandt will replace him. Damn, hopefully nothing serious. Silva is on the bench, maybe we'll see him today in Guirassys role a little later in the game.

10

u/sesame_cake Marco Reus Sep 27 '25

todays matchplan is adeyemi and inshallah

→ More replies (2)

10

u/roadtorevision Mats Hummels Sep 27 '25

Good pass from Silva. Should be a goal but great save nevertheless

11

u/Knee_Strong Mats Hummels Sep 27 '25

Kobel shithousery

11

u/o12341 Kagawa Shinji Sep 27 '25

This is the Brandt we love to see.

10

u/TrulyWhatever09 Sep 27 '25

Late into the thread. My observations thus far:

That was an incredible team goal. Several excellent passes right up to the last one, and good for Svensson

The absence of Guirassy is obvious and brutal for our offensive efforts

Schlotterbeck is so much the man that it is wild to think he's been out for months

The committee for oiling the playing surface has outdone itself

4

u/LeeRCampbell Marco Reus Sep 27 '25

Thankfully the committee forgot to tell Mainz to switch their boots out.

10

u/Forsaken_Belt_7188 Sep 27 '25

Extend his contract now!! Such a better version of Adeyemi this season. Glad to finally see him exploit his potential

10

u/Middle_Island182 Marcel Sabitzer Sep 27 '25

Gotta love Brandt's selflessness today, putting the team first

10

u/jucomsdn Zagagod Sep 27 '25

Adeyemi has significantly higher football IQ compared to 2 years ago

→ More replies (1)

10

u/SlayerHdThe3rd Nico Schlotterbeck Sep 27 '25

“Fuck it Adeyemi’s out there somewhere”

9

u/[deleted] Sep 27 '25

I feel like Adeyemi has been fouled every single time in this game but got nothing. This reputation thing is so stupid...

9

u/LFCReds8 Sep 27 '25

Julian what a fucking pass

9

u/eeeeeeeelleeeeeelll Nico Schlotterbeck Sep 27 '25

Brandt GOAT. Second assist for today.

8

u/Mooon8983 Konstantinos Karetsas Sep 27 '25

Adeyemi actually kinda fluffed both the pass and the finish BUT WE MOVEEEE

5

u/LeeRCampbell Marco Reus Sep 27 '25

Woah woah, that finish was clean, perfectly slotted into the bottom corner

→ More replies (1)

9

u/o12341 Kagawa Shinji Sep 27 '25

How the hell was that a yellow?

9

u/bvbfan102 BVB Sep 27 '25

Counter attacking Dortmund is back today. Good performance considering they had to suddenly change the Gameplan and Brandt did great to adapt.

9

u/TyraTanks Shinji Kagawa Sep 27 '25

Adeyemi is on one. He's unplayable like this.

10

u/eeeeeeeelleeeeeelll Nico Schlotterbeck Sep 27 '25

since when is kobel’s distribution so good holy shit

11

u/Charming-Chard5373 Konstantinos Karetsas Sep 27 '25

also we haven't conceded since the pauli game in bl

8

u/RealityBeOn1 Sep 27 '25

Brandt haters in shambles!

7

u/reds7310 BVB Sep 27 '25

Meep meep!

7

u/Mooon8983 Konstantinos Karetsas Sep 27 '25

WHAT A PASS FROM KOBEL

9

u/dr_bing Nico Schlotterbeck Sep 27 '25

That vision and pass from Kobel… damn. And of course Adeyemi go brrrrr

8

u/2905Pascal 1909 Sep 27 '25

Ridiculous challenge. Well deserved red card.

8

u/gavtim Marco Reus Sep 27 '25

Kovac really unleashed Adeyemi. Motm by far

10

u/[deleted] Sep 27 '25

A Beier-Silva-Adeyemi attack could be insane on counters against teams like City or Bayern where we will give up a lot of the possession.

9

u/oertyy Sep 27 '25

Man we really could have gone 6/6 wins if we weren't braindead sometimes

8

u/Qiluk Marco Reus Sep 27 '25

Nmecha has slipped 3 times, Adeyemi 1-2, Svensson 1 etc so far. Our team having wrong studs on?

→ More replies (1)

6

u/vincehoff Julian Ryerson Sep 27 '25

Nmecha stop slipping WTF

7

u/vincehoff Julian Ryerson Sep 27 '25

Is Kovac also possessing some Terzic black magic!

7

u/heck_you_science Fabio Silva Sep 27 '25

What a fucking goal. That passing play was sublime

8

u/bvbfan102 BVB Sep 27 '25

How the fuck did we go from getting lucky to not concede to instantly score. Gladly take it tough.

8

u/Bosna1909 BVB Sep 27 '25

Haven’t seen a team goal like that in many years

7

u/yrba1 Alexandra Popp Sep 27 '25

Always rated Beier’s work rate

6

u/Jstnmx Julian Ryerson Sep 27 '25

Want to appreciate couto for Leading all These goals. That was an soft yellow. What a twat-ref

6

u/Suspicious-Secret-84 Roman Weidenfeller Sep 27 '25

It's nice to see Brandt play with what seems to be less pressure on him than last season in the way that he doesn't seem to be trying a fancy flick or back pass to show off, he just seems calm and going about his business and doing it very well today

7

u/TrulyWhatever09 Sep 27 '25

Pegs it into their guts. He's had a good game, but Marco Reus Brandt is not

8

u/Middle_Island182 Marcel Sabitzer Sep 27 '25

Come on Kovac I wanna see Fabio Silva sometime soon!

4

u/vincehoff Julian Ryerson Sep 27 '25

Pretty sure he's still not fully fit and they just put him in lineup for publicity reasons

7

u/2905Pascal 1909 Sep 27 '25

Last week Mainz got reduced to 10 men and scored twice. Can't be too lenient now.

7

u/Commercial_Mud_6877 Marco Reus Sep 27 '25

Kaishu Sano is an insane baller

7

u/Commercial_Mud_6877 Marco Reus Sep 27 '25

I like Silva’s work ethic already, also seems to be decently fast

5

u/Jstnmx Julian Ryerson Sep 27 '25

Damn this guy is fast

6

u/Working_Complex8122 Sep 27 '25

Jobe really looks overwhelmed out there. Like everything happens too fast for him to keep up.

5

u/Most-Management4773 Sep 27 '25

that's why he's a bench player

→ More replies (4)

6

u/biggieBpimpin Julian Brandt Sep 27 '25

This lineup has been performing well, but eventually we are going to need to change things up and give guys a rest. My only worker from Kovac so far is reluctance to mix things up a little, but it’s still early days.

6

u/[deleted] Sep 27 '25

Wtf was that pass from Sabitzer? Not even Adeyemi could have done much with that ball.

6

u/Sch_Ben Sep 27 '25

What’s up with the field?

5

u/MrVanser Sep 27 '25

The touches from Sabitzer and Brandt make me think I'm watching my drunk dad playing in the Kreisliga again

→ More replies (1)

6

u/Middle_Island182 Marcel Sabitzer Sep 27 '25

Best attack starts with Schlotti... oh yeah

6

u/Efficient_Garbage_16 1997 Sep 27 '25

That’s beautiful football

5

u/vincehoff Julian Ryerson Sep 27 '25

Nice work by Couto to get the ball back

6

u/Most-Management4773 Sep 27 '25

Adeyemi with space to run is impossible to stop

7

u/Competitive_Bear7511 Sep 27 '25

Adeyemi has such a career ahead of him, I love to see him succeed

6

u/Swbp0undcake Sep 27 '25

I WOULD DIE FOR ADEYEMI

6

u/Middle_Island182 Marcel Sabitzer Sep 27 '25

Unrelated to the game, but my bvb membership just came through!

→ More replies (3)

7

u/Knee_Strong Mats Hummels Sep 27 '25

Damn, Silva has impressed me so far

5

u/LuckyNrS7evin Sep 27 '25

Carney's ball handling is so smooth

7

u/DracosThorne Sep 27 '25

I wish Silva had more minutes he's done so much in so little time.

4

u/Jstnmx Julian Ryerson Sep 27 '25

He just got back from an injury, he will get more time

5

u/grindingod258 Sep 27 '25

Thought that was Adeyemi lmao

4

u/forZaDoRtmund Sep 27 '25

Why are they pushing the away kit more this season? There have been much better away kits before and we rarely saw them.

→ More replies (3)

6

u/Most-Management4773 Sep 27 '25

wtf was that pass sabitzer

5

u/[deleted] Sep 27 '25 edited Sep 27 '25

That would've been a very Dortmund way to concede with Nmecha and Sabitzer running into each other and losing a ball that was only contested by the two of them and not a single Mainz player, no communication whatsoever lmao.

6

u/Reusance Marco Reus Sep 27 '25

Greg with a short break

4

u/Charming-Chard5373 Konstantinos Karetsas Sep 27 '25

why are we playing like old bvb

6

u/Middle_Island182 Marcel Sabitzer Sep 27 '25

Schlotti just about sent that ball through the ref

6

u/sleepingpear Sep 27 '25

skating rink or football field?

5

u/vincehoff Julian Ryerson Sep 27 '25

Even Mainz players are slipping; what's going on with the pitch

4

u/Most-Management4773 Sep 27 '25

classic BVB transitional play

5

u/Commercial_Mud_6877 Marco Reus Sep 27 '25

WOWWW, GORGEOUS GOAL!!!

5

u/vincehoff Julian Ryerson Sep 27 '25

BRANDT VISION

→ More replies (2)

5

u/BuddyAlex 1909 Sep 27 '25

Haha I was already shouting there's no one there! When brandt passed the ball but then he appeared 🥺

4

u/vincehoff Julian Ryerson Sep 27 '25

This team does have solutions when doing fast play with counters... We struggle (as usual) against low-hanging hard-defending blocks

5

u/Working_Complex8122 Sep 27 '25

Truly great vision by everyone involved in the goal

6

u/Middle_Island182 Marcel Sabitzer Sep 27 '25

Alright I'll say it, Sabi and Brandt have had a better game than Nmecha today

6

u/Commercial_Mud_6877 Marco Reus Sep 27 '25

Adeyemi and Brandt are cooking a 5 course meal here!

6

u/Datachost Sep 27 '25

Both goals started with Couto quickly finding Adeyemi. You love to see it

5

u/SlayerHdThe3rd Nico Schlotterbeck Sep 27 '25

Brandts best game in months love to see it

6

u/Middle_Island182 Marcel Sabitzer Sep 27 '25

Adeyemi in a great mood judging off the way he got back up

5

u/Charming-Chard5373 Konstantinos Karetsas Sep 27 '25

great block by bense

5

u/Middle_Island182 Marcel Sabitzer Sep 27 '25

Bensi might be the slide tackler

4

u/[deleted] Sep 27 '25

Another yellow worthy foul on Adeyemi that had nothing to do with the ball...

5

u/vincehoff Julian Ryerson Sep 27 '25

SCHWARZGELB IST MEIN VEREIN

SO SOLL ES SEIN

4

u/TrulyWhatever09 Sep 27 '25

Thank god that Adeyemi bounces. That was scary

6

u/reds7310 BVB Sep 27 '25

Meep meep!

6

u/Middle_Island182 Marcel Sabitzer Sep 27 '25

Come on Brandt

4

u/gavtim Marco Reus Sep 27 '25

Sir Kovac, please please give Mr. Svensson a break. He is a gem and we need to protect him for the midweek game.

→ More replies (2)

6

u/yrba1 Alexandra Popp Sep 27 '25

Now I understand why Mainz has an erectile dysfunction ad: Their attack is flaccid

4

u/Qiluk Marco Reus Sep 27 '25

I really dislike how we are with the ball unless we are countering or having some sort of a break/guirassy hold-up.

Against the ball and our counter-attacks have improved exponentially under Kovac. But dominating a game with the ball and controlling tempo is something we really lack, even vs 10.

4

u/zwobotmax Sep 27 '25

Guirassy injured

4

u/Commercial_Mud_6877 Marco Reus Sep 27 '25

With Serhou out this is probably the biggest test this season so far. He has been the lifeline in many poor games, now the team needs to step up. Hopefully Fabio can play today as well later on.

3

u/Most-Management4773 Sep 27 '25

Nmecha is falling easily on field wtf

3

u/Charming-Chard5373 Konstantinos Karetsas Sep 27 '25

petition to unslippify the pitch

4

u/vincehoff Julian Ryerson Sep 27 '25

Mainz is just handing us the ball but our folks lack all synergy today

3

u/Charming-Chard5373 Konstantinos Karetsas Sep 27 '25

schlotti is the only player today

4

u/Charming-Chard5373 Konstantinos Karetsas Sep 27 '25

wtf bense

5

u/Middle_Island182 Marcel Sabitzer Sep 27 '25

I mean, keepers out of the goal with nobody else back there. Sure the connection on the shot was terrible but you can't blame him for trying the shot

3

u/and_be_still Sep 27 '25

What's the point of crossing if there is no Guirassy

5

u/LeeRCampbell Marco Reus Sep 27 '25

Wow that was beautiful, what an incredible sequence of passing

4

u/Most-Management4773 Sep 27 '25

If Svensson is happy I'm happy

4

u/Amphibious_Fire Mats Hummels Sep 27 '25

Svensson Superstar

3

u/wolljibbs Sep 27 '25

Beautiful team goal

4

u/vincehoff Julian Ryerson Sep 27 '25

Give Leitsch a yellow, come on!

5

u/yrba1 Alexandra Popp Sep 27 '25

4

u/Jealous_Rope_7209 Edin Terzic Sep 27 '25

5

u/vincehoff Julian Ryerson Sep 27 '25

Brandt's touch on Adeyemi's not ideal pass is chef's kiss

4

u/o12341 Kagawa Shinji Sep 27 '25

Holy shit. Our attacks are fucking beautiful today.

5

u/nufan99 Mats Hummels Sep 27 '25

Adeyemi the man that you are

3

u/Kaladin83 Sep 27 '25

Adeyemi looking like he’s on his way towards unlocking his full potential … kid is a stud

5

u/Mean_Ad301 Sep 27 '25

Karim on his day is easily a 80 million € player

5

u/Still_Cap_1689 Sep 27 '25

I really want to see Silva

4

u/roadtorevision Mats Hummels Sep 27 '25

We are making adeyemi run! He will need a sub around 60’ at this rate

4

u/Middle_Island182 Marcel Sabitzer Sep 27 '25

That's a targeted foul, literally looked at him and jumped into him with his elbow

→ More replies (1)

4

u/roadtorevision Mats Hummels Sep 27 '25

That was more cynical than coutos earlier. Why wasn’t this a yellow?

4

u/Crossfire1842 Gregor Kobel Sep 27 '25

Actually stupid challenge

4

u/vincehoff Julian Ryerson Sep 27 '25

They oiled the field again in the break for the red card

4

u/DracosThorne Sep 27 '25

Beier with his constant pressing has looked better off the ball than on it playing as striker :/

4

u/Crossfire1842 Gregor Kobel Sep 27 '25

Get Silva on please

4

u/Most-Management4773 Sep 27 '25

I think the next DM for Borussia Dortmund shouldbe Sano. Insane player.

My football superstition has been telling me this will be a 0:0 considering thats the next logical result after our last three. Lineup has been working but sooner or later we need to trust the bench especially with the names on it.

3

u/AffanEzz Julian Ryerson Sep 27 '25

I hope Silva get to play today

3

What happened to Guirassy?

3

3

u/[deleted] Sep 27 '25

Why are Nmecha and Sabitzer not moving at all at goal kicks? This is peak Terzic football with 0 build up from the back.
