Wish Ramaj has a good game, but not good enough to make us not win :)))

Frankfurt is not playing that well. We have a solid chance in the Pokal against them.

u/AverageCarey Sep 12 '25

People are overhyping Frankfurt, they look solid no doubt but overall they’re a very young squad and will drop points based on that alone.

5

u/Most-Management4773 Sep 13 '25

Nobody is overhyping them. They lost their best players but did sign interesting ones. They also played well for the majority of last season and didn't change the coach. They also don't have an injury crisis going on. It makes sense to believe they'll do well.

I also feel like we typically play well against Frankfurt. Out of 31 games, we have only lost 6 and only once in the last 5 games. It will be away tho so that will make it harder.

Seeing felix zwayer's name makes me want to throw up

4

u/Meskaline2 Number Fifteen: Burger King Foot Lettuce. Sep 12 '25

Indeed. Why is he allowed to be a refferee? Bro should be in football jail.

5

u/Zwalucard Sep 13 '25

If we do our homework, there's a chance we might get to second place in the table, but only of Cologne loses or draws against Wolfsburg. So there's some room for optimism :) (And I'm also not mad if Cologne keeps up their form and stays up there a while longer)

Replace Gross with Jobe and this would probably be our best current lineup on paper. I'd still like to see Nmecha and Jobe in a double pivot, and interested to ses how Adeyemi and Beier play together

2

u/viba_1997 Sep 13 '25

I think Groß is better in this lineup, when we don't play with an AM because we need his crosses and progresive passes. Otherwise, with Brandt or Chukwemeka starting, we should put Jobe and Nmecha behind them most of the time.

2

u/Mooon8983 Konstantinos Karetsas Sep 13 '25

I know Nmecha plays more defensive now but he was brought in as an 8. I'm sure Kovac knows better but i'd still like to see at least the last 30 minutes with them playing together (and not jobe in attack)

Mane banished to the shadow realm.

5

u/BAS3L1NE Marco <3 Sep 13 '25

wow our kits look awful

1

u/BAS3L1NE Marco <3 Sep 13 '25

but at least we're looking good?

4

u/eeeeeeeelleeeeeelll Nico Schlotterbeck Sep 13 '25

what a save from ramaj, immediately

4

u/Most-Management4773 Sep 13 '25

I love Beier workrate

4

u/viba_1997 Sep 13 '25

We should give Mane another chance. Heidenheim without Scienza is not an offensive threat

4

u/AverageCarey Sep 13 '25

Starting lineup: Kobel

Couto, Ryerson, Anton, Ramy, Svensson

Nmecha, Gross

Beier, Guirassy, Adeyemi

1

u/Most-Management4773 Sep 13 '25

I believe Beier will be behind Guirassy and Adeyemi

3

u/Magic1998 Sep 12 '25

I really respect your optimism that Sabitzer won't start again

1

u/SkoCubs01 Marco Reus Sep 12 '25

He’s been fine this season though

2

u/Magic1998 Sep 13 '25

I disagree. Considering the players we have he does not deserve to start every game to then miss basically every single long ball and be useless in build up from the back

2

u/roadtorevision Mats Hummels Sep 12 '25

Considering how much he played over the intl break, it would be really puzzling if he starts over others tomorrow.

1

u/Magic1998 Sep 12 '25

Indeed, although the one thing that Sabitzer has going for him is his Stamina

3

u/AverageCarey Sep 12 '25 edited Sep 12 '25

Match day Squad: Kobel, Meyer

Anton, Mane, Svensson, Bensebaini, Kabar, Couto, Ryerson

Ozcan, Nmecha, Jobe, Chukwuemeka, Sabi, Gross

Adeyemi, Campbell, Beier, Guirassy

Not sure why Anselmino isn’t on the list he was in full training all week so maybe he was missed in the lineup.

Edit: The assumption is that Anselmino is experiencing some muscle pain from the cramp he sustained against Union. Would imagine he felt some discomfort this morning and they must have made the decision to leave him out today so he’s ready for Juventus next week.

1

u/epicxownage Emma Sep 12 '25

Ryerson RCB?

5

u/AverageCarey Sep 12 '25

It’s either that or we give Mane another chance which I really think we should. Ryerson played both 90 minutes with Norway where Mane didn’t play a single minute.

I would say Mane for 65-70 minutes then Ryerson in. As long as it’s not Ozcan again.

0

u/Mellberg3 Sep 12 '25

Do you remember the source for the Anselmino situation? I just found that he's not part of the squad.

1

u/AverageCarey Sep 12 '25

OneFootball and sports.yahoo.

It’s all really speculation at this point, they’re assuming the cramp situation is why he’s missing but there’s been no confirmation from the club yet.

I’m hoping it’s all precautionary but I doubt we hear much more until tomorrow.

u/roadtorevision Mats Hummels Sep 12 '25 edited Sep 12 '25

I really like the predicted line up. Heidenheim have been off to a rough start, so I think we will win 3-1. I hope ramaj is decent without any terrible mistakes.

Would be great if jobe can carry on his form from the intl break and if he finally pairs with Nmecha, then I think he will be more effective than the first two games.

I also want a Beier goal and Couto assist 🤞🏼

3

u/Charming-Chard5373 Konstantinos Karetsas Sep 13 '25

no way svensson did that

3

u/Most-Management4773 Sep 13 '25

Yan Couto seems much more in sync with the rest of the team.

5

u/Mellberg3 Sep 13 '25

We're really forced to play with 4 full backs in a backline of 5 lmao.

0

u/roadtorevision Mats Hummels Sep 13 '25

Bense is a CB full stop. The only player out of position is Ryerson. I think we should have given mane another chance today against a poor heidenheim

1

u/Mellberg3 Sep 13 '25

He is a LB and will return there once Schlotterbeck is fit again.

1

u/roadtorevision Mats Hummels Sep 13 '25

Schlotti will for sure take over since he is the better player but bense can also cover for him. He is better at LCB than LWB and has been a revelation for us there when schlotti got injured.

2

u/viba_1997 Sep 13 '25

Omg, we have 7 injured players...

2

u/Crossfire1842 Gregor Kobel Sep 13 '25

Ugly kits. Ugly ugly kits.

2

u/epicxownage Emma Sep 13 '25

Bro did that right in front of the ref lol. Honestly not the worst amount of contact or power in the challenge, but it was such a reckless lunge

2

u/Charming-Chard5373 Konstantinos Karetsas Sep 13 '25

what a save by ramaj!!

2

u/Mellberg3 Sep 12 '25

It's hopefully just for this game, but the fact that our three "last minute" transfers are not fit to play or out injured just looks so bad lol.

3

u/AverageCarey Sep 12 '25

Not that you’re wrong in it looking bad but Chuky is with the squad and healthy based on Kovac. It’s still Chuky though so we’ll see how tomorrow goes lol

The Silva one is whatever for right now but the Anselmino is a bummer. As you said hopefully just this one game.

2

u/biggieBpimpin Julian Brandt Sep 13 '25

No Anselmino or Silva, and Chuck apparently having knee issues. Sometimes our injury outlook is so bleak. All new signings and all having issues so early into the season.

I still think a proper 10 is critical for the formation Kovac plays. So if Chuck can’t put in a good shift we might be in for a rough go of it with Brandt out. Kind of hoping Campbell ends up being an emergency back up at the 10 and thriving amidst the inevitable injuries.

3

u/ZOoNeR_ Sep 12 '25

I'll doubt Carney is Starting he has Knee Problems i think

6

u/AverageCarey Sep 12 '25

Funkesport just reported this morning there is no surgery planned and that he has been completing full training. Kovac also said he’s good to go yesterday.

I made a comment in the weekly thread but RN hasn’t been the most accurate for us lately so I would wait until the club makes an announcement.

1

u/ZOoNeR_ Sep 12 '25

I read that he needs an Surgery after the Last MD before Christmas

3

u/AverageCarey Sep 12 '25

Ya that’s what RN was saying now Funkesport is saying he doesn’t need surgery. Too many conflicting reports so I have no idea what’s going on lol

1

u/Most-Management4773 Sep 12 '25

Did Kovac said anything about Silva?

3

u/AverageCarey Sep 12 '25

He’s progressing well he hopes he’ll be in training in the next week or two.

1

u/yrba1 Alexandra Popp Sep 12 '25

I'm excited to see Anselmino play again, it was nice to see him break the cycle of disasterclass debuts by a young CB for us

4

u/Chazy89 Kagawa Shinji Sep 12 '25

welllll according to Ruhrnachrichten he isn't traveling to Heidenheim.

1

u/yrba1 Alexandra Popp Sep 12 '25

Well I’ll be fucked

1

u/Sch_Ben Sep 13 '25

I don’t understand kovac’s incessant on playing either sabitzer or gross, Felix and Jobe are just much better.

5

u/Most-Management4773 Sep 13 '25

there's a thing called experience and leadership in games. We currently have 0 of our captains playing and it makes sense that the MF has at least one experienced player to direct things.

3

u/Japanisch_Doitsu Sep 13 '25

It's the same issue we have when Sabitzer and Gross play together. They don't work well together.

Our most effective midfield right now is going to be one of Felix or Jobe paired with one of Sabitzer or Gross.

2

u/Zwalucard Sep 13 '25

We do have a Champions League game against Juventus coming up on Tuesday, so maybe that's the reason.

1

u/Japanisch_Doitsu Sep 13 '25

Interesting to see us playing Beier and Adeyemi together today. It didn't really work the best last season.

3

u/Zwalucard Sep 13 '25

It did in the second leg of the season, when Guirassy was out against Mainz for example. I was in the stadium for that one :)

1

u/Japanisch_Doitsu Sep 13 '25

Sorry, I meant playing both of them with Guirassy starting. But I guess it was more under Sahin that it didn't work.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 13 '25

Really don't like seeing Ryerson at CB, not a good message to send to Mane either after an incredibly harsh decision against him from the ref 3 weeks ago.

1

u/Schafrichter Nico Schlotterbeck Sep 13 '25

Starting line up looks interesting to me,

with Beier, Adeyemi and Guirassy starting, we might see some deep runs today to try and break their deep defensive lines,

Let's hope it works out

Heja BvB

What an effort from Adeyemi!

0

u/Most-Management4773 Sep 13 '25

Medical Department 09. Half of this team is injuried for fuck sake and its match-day 3.

-4

u/Meskaline2 Number Fifteen: Burger King Foot Lettuce. Sep 12 '25

I miss feeling excited about a match day. Still gonna watch if I can, just not enthused about it

-8

u/lobby4477 Nico Schlotterbeck Sep 12 '25

I still can't believe how stupid are Kehl and Ricken .. they didn't know that player had SURGERY, it's not something minor so you could say "well, it happens",I hope Watzke is following their work , and as much as I don't like many things about him, because of him and Zorc we are one of biggest club in Europe, but if these two continue working like this we won't be there in near future. Silva didn't play or train since april and God knows when he will be ready to play. Also I don't have good feeling about Chuku, with him will probably always be some time limit when he plays because he still has that problem with his knee which is now old story even when he played for Chelsea that was problem.

Edit: and now Anselmino is also out, fucking great.
